This photo shows my brocholli starting to form the florets. I have 8 plants total planted this year. A great addition to salads or great with cheese melted on top of a baked tater. What's your favorite way to eat brocholli? I love mine with a tater, cheese and lots of butter.

I never thought about growing broccoli. We LOVE broccoli. Do they have a long cycle or a short one? Is it too late to start here on the East Coast? I hope you get loads of it from yours, GB. I'm definitely going to think about growing some. I'm trying to stick with what I know we use or eat a lot of.

It takes about 80 days till picking I think.
So a long time I reckon.
May be too late to start them already.

My kids LOVE broccoli! They usually just eat it steamed with a little salt and maybe a little butter. One of my son's favorite ways to eat it is raw in broccoli salad. It is basically broccoli, mayo, sugar, vinegar, bacon, and shredded cheese. He goes crazy over it.

I can eat it right off the stalk.
Crunchy that way too. Yummy!

So that's what is growing!! I forgot to plot my garden this year and I know I planted broccoli. I don't have any florets yet but I look forward to eating my own broccoli! I like it raw in salads, cooked with butter buds and salt, and in casseroles, especially tuna!

With cheese sauce... Raley's has a pretty decent veggie salad with broccoli also.

I make a great company dish with broccoli: a broccoli quiche. I make (or buy) a pie dough, pinch it. Steam the broccoli until half done (al dente). Put little flowerets in the pie dough, diced cheese (the one that melts) and then beat 3 whole eggs. I also like some parmesan on top if I have it. Bake until custard is settled on medium.
It´s incredible! It can also be done with cawliflower.

hi Grandpa Bob I love broccoli with cheese o n it and a tater with cheese and lots of butter, and sour cream for my tater too.oh that makes me
really hungry. for dinner we are having chicken pot pie only its just a bowl of chopped up chicken with mixed frozen veggies, no crust no topping even. just chooped chicken with veggies ina cornstarch sauce. I dout if the cooks know how to make a real chicken pot pie at all. the real dish is really yummy done right with a golden brown crust and no cornstarch thinked glop but real chicken pieces and real home grown
veggies in it.Now next to that broccoli and baked potato with sour cream and butter and some chives,aw nobody can do it better than that.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I love brocolli! That is definitely my very
favorite veggie! I like it anyway you can make it! I love it
just with marjorine or cheese and with taters or in a mix of
other veggies! I even like it cold in a salad! I think it really
is one of the tastiest veggies and certainly one of the most
healthiest! Now my mouth is watering for some! They look wonderful!
