This photo shows one of a few acorn squash that have formed in my garden. I have 4 plants total. They sure take up a lot of room though. Now, next year I need to rearrange my garden beds yet again. Do you find yourself planting the same things in the same area each year? I do not as I add something new each year and it depends on sunlight etc where things get planted each year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have never planted acorn squash, but we had a volunteer one a few years ago. It grew right in with the tomato plants. I don't have a garden this year, but in past years things went in the same spot as the year before.

I have watermelons and tomatoes that were put into my compost bin and grew in different areas of my garden this year. I tore up the maters but left the melons. But our growing season is so short I doubt I get any watermelons. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

when we last gardened we did move things around each year so that the soil would not be depleted and also so those things that needed the most sun could get them, seems like home grown sweet corn alway depleted the soild so we would finrd the sunniest spots for it. we grew a lot and furnished the whole town with roasting ears for really cheap prices.

I try to move things around each year because I like to grow different things, too, and because it helps keep the soil healthy by not growing the same things on it all the time. You should have a lot of acorn squash with 4 plants!

I think I willl not attempt to plant squatch in my garden as plants take too much room. I will also plant 4 zuchinni plants and no more, for the same reason. There are so many veggies we want to place in a small lot!!! Last year I tried fava beans but it is easier to buy it at the Farmer“s Market as I need lots of plants to have a big salad. Fortunatly they are not expensive.
