Hi all. I read about the case this morning on yahoo news. Some senatoral candidate who used to work for CBCP filed a suit against DepEd. DepEd also claims that there was just a change of name in the course and that the subject focuses on gender development. Nothing about contraceptives etc. It's just changing the name spurred a lot of reactions. I am a catholic and I truly believe in God, but I don't have the same stand as the CBCP. I think s e x education should be taught, and that contraceptives be used. But still am a no go for abortion. I don't believe that using contraceptives is abortion. Waiting for parents teach their kids about s e x, won't really come. I mean, come on, will you teach your kid something that sensitive? I honestly didn't learn about s e x from my parents. I learned about it as I grew up. From friends, friends of friends, stories, green jokes. What I only got from my parents, my mum to be exact was "Wag na wag mong gagawin yung mga bagay na pang-magasawa lang. Wag na wag kang magpapakasal dahil lang buntis ka. Nako, ikamamatay namin yun ng papa mo". That's about it. Repeated a couple of times since I started dating. As for contraceptives, It's darn useful! Just look at all the poor families who has 10? 11? 12? 20 mouths to feed? Just imagine that? Our main problem is poverty right? It's been hard alleviate this because there's just to freakin' many poor people (don't tell me that it's all from corruption, it's NOT!). They have so many kids that they can't clothe decently, feed properly or send to school. A lot of middle class people go abroad because of better opportunities, the poor don't have this kind of opportunity. They can't even get pass high school because of financial reasons. So there, that's my say on the subject. how about you?

I guess the education that Deped is not that vulgar or malicious enough to make the youth of today become promiscuous. I think what Deped has been telling is that this topic will become part of the the curriculum and they would include this to desensitize this growing population from being more and more curious about the topic. The more you make the youth curious about a certain topic the more risks that they might explore it on themselves. I guess with the media, TV as a medium to learn what this topic is all about will just not stopped the youth from knowing what it is. We cannot stop the proliferation of of this in an uncontrolled environment like Internet. We might as well make them known to them in the most scientific and conventional manner. And where is that? Of course inside a classroom where teacher can discuss it and talk about it the risks and problems it involves.

I even have a topic here in mylot regarding the V-i-r-g-i-n-i-t-y but unfortunately it was removed I think they were sensitive to the terms but of course when you read my post it is does not have any intention into malicious content but it was all about the beliefs on how they stand about it. Like what are their views, how do they react on pre-marital s3x and for those people who are engaged on it, when do they think it is the right time to give up it aside from when they are married, and lastly if there is religious aspect involved on their beliefs. I originally posted this in some teen forums like candymag, but you know what? it is actually effective that most of the teens are really open minded and they are matured enough to justified their beliefs. I don't really allow someone to start any argument since there are topics that were locked a couple of times because of the sensitive topic. Now with this kind of education I totally believe that it is important nowadays to educate the students especially single mothers are increasing, population as well is increasing. But I want them to stop lecturing students like if you are not yet married and you have done this then you committed a big sin already blah blah blah as if this is the blasphemy among other kinds of sin like murder, using the word of God in vain (which is normally happen) I mean I don't want them to become super so religious as if so 100% pure and clean. They must actually explain this sensitive matter with full RESPECT and DIGNITY! Parents as well must not antagonizing their child to discuss this sensitive matter especially about their curiosity, of course they should explain it because if not then no wonder why most kids nowadays are rebellious.

S ex ed is important to us. No matter what others think they need to realize that se xed will give the young the awareness of this things as being wrong. Doing it at the wrong age is wrong. Doing it with many people is wrong. This is important. Rather them getting it from some sites and trying it out themselves.
