Red cards

There are a few that was dished out so far in the tournament. Some deserving while a few ain't. I think Kaka got the most undeserving red card. He basically did nothing while Keita ran into him and fell like he was being pole-axed. His action might well back-fired on him. Ivory Coast need Brazil to beat the Portugese in the final match to have any hope of qualifying for the next round. But getting one of the better players suspended, it is doing them no favour at all. The other red card that I felt was undeserving was Harry Kewell's. Was it handball or shoulder ball? A yellow card and a penalty would be sufficient punishment. What is your take?

I think that is very much bound to happen given the fact that referees come from different parts of the world which have different interpretations of rules. For e.g. the Behrami send off yesterday for a raised arm would not even have warranted an yellow card by an English referee who plies his trade in the physical EPL. But it would have warranted a card of some color by the South American/Asian/Spanish referees. I think that adds to the fun of the World Cup and tests the adaptability of the players. I love the attitude shown by Joachim Loew on the soft dismissal of Miroslav Klose. There is no point in complaining, just take it on the chin and see what you can do next!! Cheers! Ram
