In the light of the recent spate of events from the booting of France's team member Nicolas Anelka to the teams refusal to train - sponsors of France's scandal-hit football team have started to withdraw advertising campaigns featuring the team and/or certain players. The team and Nicolas Anelka certainly deserved whatever is coming for their unbecoming and unprofessional behavior during this world cup tournament. It is reported that Credit Agricole had cancelled its television campaign with the team, which on Sunday boycotted a training session in support of striker Nicolas Anelka who was sent home for foul-mouthing the national coach. While, fast-food company Quick decided over the weekend to stop using an advertising film featuring Anelka and Procter and Gamble said it was dropping a television campaign for its Pringles crisp brand that featured the expelled player. Looks like the team and Anelka will be in for more when the tournament ends as some major sponsors are adopting a wait and see option for now. I do not know about you, but I feel the team and Anelka definitely deserve everything coming at them now! What's your take? yes i know this is a very sad thing. i mean yes there are ups and downs in sports and also that one team can fail. but the way france failed is really something to worry about and more over the fans for the country would be so disheartening. i know sponsors will always look for money and if they fail to get that, then they will not be interested. they are all business minded. but i feel that the players could have tried harder. they are far better team that the result that they have shown

amitavroy, I think this episode is showing a disturbing emergence about these so called spoiled soccer professionals, where they can take their teams to ransom when they are not happy with their coach/manager. Honestly, I just do not like to see what is actually developing here and I hope that the players will respect authority and remind themselves that they are not above everybody especially their own managers. If Anelka is to be found guilty of his misconduct, I hope that the relevant authorities will come down hard on him to deter another similar incident. This whole episode has really put France to utter shame as they have gotten themselves an unnecessary early exit - 1st in history.
