piracy-blessing or curse?

India

Videos and songs and latest movies are being pirated everyday. Though piracy is still considered a crime many people don't take it seriously and continue to take law into their own hands. Much money is being spent on realising a new film or a new album and suddenly if a pirated version is released then it hits the market and it's very difficult to trace the owner. In India the BJP party had a piracy video of recently released film called RAJNEETI. Although it has helped us in getting the latest information as soon as possible it's still a crime. What do you think Mylotters?

I think a lot of people choose to do this because the cost of going to the cinema for example, is really expensive these days, as are the cost of movies and music. I don't think it is right and I know that big companies end up losing money because of it. Some people actually make the crime worse by selling the pirate copies to friends and others.

well rosie320 the cost maybe high but only sometimes it's worth that much cost no? Maybe that's the reason why people prefer piracy...

i think of a few reasons why most people still avail of pirated products. one is, early release of pirated versions than the original(copyright). second, the huge difference on market price.
