Raymond Domanech the french manager claims that the French players were stupid for staging a boycott to the training. It is also said that it was instigated by Thiery Henri and group of 9 senior players including the likes of Abidal and Gallas!! Imagine the French manager calls his player's stupid for their actions and then stupidly refuses to shake hands with South African manager after losing the match!! How low can the French National team stoop now? Cheers! Ram

The only thing worse that could have happened was a no show and being banned. I would love to know why he refused to shake South Africa's coaches hand. It seems French manners are a thing of the past. I hope they take 2 years off to sort out these issues and come back when things are better, soccer is called the beautiful game but thanks to the French is losing its glory.

I can just imagine what must be going through the mind of Laurent Blanc, who will need to build the team again from scratch. I think he will do go good by kissing this lot good bye and start thinking of a new team with new talents and more pride in the French shirt. Cheers! Ram

I think there were a few other by standers in Diaby, Clichy and Lloris. BTW, visit my earlier discussion on the predictions of qualifiers from Group A (http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2338690.aspx), so far you have earned 1 out of 2 points :) Cheers! Ram

I seriously hope the youth coach is working hard and one needs experienced players to teach the younger ones but in this case I would throw them all out except maybe Malouda and start with 11 new players and get them experienced and playing internationals as often as possible to build themselves up.

Yes, it has been a really crazy outing for the French. They themselves would have felt that it would have been better if Henry had not scored the handball goal!! Cheers! Ram

Really a shame, i don't remember to see something like that in a World Cup, sometimes we see players doing that but it is not openly, not at everyone sights, you just realize that the team is not playing with the same pleasure. What i really don't understand is: why the French players didn't solved it before the World Cup???? They could ask for a change of command, did they tried it and the French Footbal Fed refuse their demand???

A very good question. In fact it was widely thought that after the dismal Euro showing Domanech would be dropped. The French Football federation called a press conference in which it was assumed they will say bye bye to Domanech, instead they announced that he would be taking France to the world cup and as they say the rest is history!! Cheers! Ram

It seems crazy that for the instigators you have mentioned it will be their last world cup. You would think that they would do everything in their power to progress through the group and not spoil their chances.

Exactly. If it is your last world cup, you want it to be a swansong to remember. I do not know what is it with French players!! Remember Zizou's head butt four years back. Cheers! Ram
