Now, I might be one of a few who is waiting to see what they are going to do for the Footloose Remake. After the remakes of Fame (which I heard was bad) and Hairspray (which I loved) I'm intrigued on what they are going to do with this classic dance movie. I love the original so I'm hoping they don't mess up the remake.
Now there is word that a newcomer, Kenny Wormald is going to be playing the lead which was originally offered to Zac Effron and Chace Crawfod. He has had dancing roles in You Got Served and Center Stage: Turn It Up. Julianne Hough is still the lead female. Dennis Quaid will be playing the reverend.
What do you think about this cast?

I think this remake has had so many issues since a few years back when it was first touted that it could end up being quite poor. You have to ask what can they do with the storyline because back in the 80s when it was made there were still places where music and dance could be banned. Now days how likely is that? As it is the main point of the movie I can see them struggling to make it current.
As for the casting I'm not sure on Quaid taking on the role of the Reverend it's a bit of a stretch for me to see him in that role but otherwise the casting isn't bad.

I'm also wondering how they could bring it up to date. With all the mix up with the main characters and who was going to direct, I wasn't sure if they were ever going to do this movie, but now it seems like they are going full steam ahead. I guess we can only see.
Thank you for responding. Happy mylotting.
