Do you always put your best foot forward, dress to look like a winner, have a daily beauty routine? Do you spend a fair bit of money on cosmetics or makeup or both so you can look good? Do you just look your best for work or special occasions and the rest of the time not bother? So many questions!! Please write me a report and have it on my screen asap.

Well absolutely yes but it depends on the situation wether I need to use my necktie, my leather shoes, or simply to say in corporate attire. The most important thing is that you must be looking clean and that's it!!!

Hi MsTickle, I do not wear skin makeup at all, never have and have wonderful skin so feel no need to, so a natural look there really but will makup eyes and lips. I wear uniform to work so am always presentable, tend to dress quite casually most days but will dressup to the nines for special occasions. I do know people that won't leave the house without their face on so to speak but my life is too busy to makeup daily. I don't spend a lot of money on cosmetics but I do on skincare both for my face and body but as these items last so long think is is worth it. I use the Olay regenerist micro demrabrasion for my face and then there moisturisers or Dove for my body. Huggles. Ellie :D

I've never had a strong habit to use cosmetics. I used to wear Oil of Olay back in the old days when that was the only product available and it had a beautiful scent. My Mum used it too and the scent always made me think of her. That and lippy and eye-shadow and liner and mascara were all I wore to work and in my 20s and 30s I wore blush too. I only ever wore a base make-up or pancake when I was going somewhere special. My skin is really dry now, my feet, legs and arms in particular. I wonder if there is something I can use in the shower to moisturise those bits of me?

The Dove Pro-age bodywash and moisturiser is extremely good and aleways leaves my skin feeling silky soft and as it is especailly designed for the older (but young at heart lol)generation should work for you.

Hi MsTickle! I do not always dress like a winner or buy the most expensive cosmetics! I only dress well when I am going out! I buy decent cosmetics that I feel are the best that suit me! I love Covergirl, Max Factor, some Revlon and sometimes I buy cheaper brands depending on what they have! I am allergic to Mabelline so they are out! I sometimes will not wear any makeup or get dressed up or do my hair except to put it up in a clip when I know that I am not going to leave the house! I have certain clothes that are for "housewear only"! And if I accidently get company then I freak out! I usually wear tank tops, short shorts, and not much else in the Summertime so whoever comes over gets to see the "real me" and it isn't always a pretty picture, but that's too bad!

I just re-read my response when I saw yours back to me and I did really come off kind of "rough"! That sure didn't sound like I meant it too. Sorry, had a fight with "mommie dearest" again so was a bit annoyed! Accept my apologies all~

You know what, I came here a while back to respond to this discussion, and then I saw the plagiarist that was copying other people's responses, and I went and reported the person and much of his or her activity (yes, I am one of THOSE myLotters that do report people). It seems that while I was doing that, I forgot to leave a response on your discussion. So, to answer your discussion ... sometimes. I do not think that I need to wear make-up just to look good. Alright, that sounds conceited, but that is not what I mean. I just do not feel the need to put on a ton of make-up every day to try to look good, especially when we are going to be having fun swimming or hiking or playing sports or whatever. There are other times, though, when I will put on make-up, because it does help to accentuate our "good features" while camouflaging our imperfections. The clothes I wear are mostly for comfort and because I like them. I usually do like clothes if they look good on me, but sometimes I just like the funny sayings on T-shirts, even though they might not be all that flattering to wear. I hardly ever "dress up" in the stereo-typical clothes that women are known for, but I do have a few dresses or skirts that are cool in the summer, so I don't mind wearing them, especially to more formal social events.

Hiya purp. I received an alert for this response of yours but not for the several before yours. That guy repeating things was a bit weird eh? I am in total agreement with your middle paragraph. Sometimes I will have a play with my makeup just for fun and I feel better about myself knowing I look good...even if it's just me here. Clothes are for cover and warmth usually but when I go shopping or to visit my Dad or do a trip with a client (those are the only "outings" I do these days)I wear my good clothes and shoes and makeup and make sure my hair looks nice and tidy.

Yeah, that was weird, especially when he copied the response of the user and their siggy, too. I think that sometimes make-up can enhance a person's beauty, but sometimes I think that people take it a little too far. If it looks like it needs to be scraped off with a spatula, then that is too much, in my opinion. I do know that some guys really like it when girls look like that, though, so I guess that it is just personal preference. I think that enough to make you feel good but not enough to look "painted" looks the best. On the other hand, I love the women that can go around without make-up and look absolutely fabulous, especially the ones that can just comb their hair and go without having to worry about all the fuss and muss of make-up and hair products. I think that if you feel good when you are out, then that is the most important thing. It sounds like you take a lot of pride in your appearance when you are on an "outing", and that is wonderful, especially since that helps you not only feel good physically but mentally as well.

...Hey there MsT, I think if you are a professional and out in the daily work force, you owe it to yourself to be the best you can be. Including the best that you can look, after all you are going out basically in competition with all the others who are in that same arena. Everybody is trying to get ahead, determined to make as much money as possible and go as far as they can go professionally. So in your effort if you spend a bit more on the things that it takes to get you there, then your goal is on the way to being accomplished. When I was in the working world as an examiner, people used to come upstairs where I was working each day at one location, just to see what I was wearing, flattering to say the least. So I feel that you should put forth the effort to be the best and dress the best that you can. It's somewhat like a contest of sorts. May the best of the lot win "o). In another respect it lifts your spirits when you dress up for yourself. Also when you look good you feel good. Finally, when you want to chill out, there's nothing wrong with a pair of raggedy jeans. Over and out. Take care.

Hi artistry...I was actually wondering how many people had an actual beauty routine...you know the cleanser, moisturiser, full make-up bit. I'm one of those who know matter how hard I try, I never look well groomed. I think it's my unruly hair and my ridiculous figure. I literally do not have a waist...worse these days now that I'm very overweight but also a problem when I needed to dress to impress.

I know what you mean about makeup running Lakota. I had a friend who worked as a makeup consultant. In the heat of summer one day IO saw her going to her office and all her foundation was in streaks on her face. A mature aged woman, she looked very silly and I felt quite embarrassed for her. How she could sell makeup in the summer looking the way she did was beyond me. Wouldn't you think the manufacturers would have addressed such problems with their product?? Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I received no alerts for this or the next couple of responses to my discussion here.

Sid Daily Routine I do my best to look decent every single day whether I am going to work or whether I have the day off. I don't feel that looking good means having a cache of expensive creams and makeups. I get up each morning and after my coffee, I shower and brush and floss. Personal hygene is very important. Not all the make-up or expensive colognes is going to be able to combat the offensive body odor or breath of a person that does not take the time to cleanse. I do take time to do my hair. It only takes a few minutes and makes all the difference. I dress for comfort. If I'm not comfortable it doesn't matter if I look good or not....I'm not going to be much fun to be around. My clothes are clean, in style, age appropriate, body appropriate. I do wear make up but I am not a slave to it and neither is my wallet.

I know whats in style because I have 4 daughters. Age appropriate for me would be ...not what they wear. Body appropriate....well...ok for example...I really don't know how to explain it. I'm 54 and even though I haven't gotten much bigger from when I was younger...my body has changed. Sorry, Ms. Tickle, I'm stuck on words. There is a woman I work with who is my same age...great body..could look good for her age but she wears her daughter's clothes. It just doesn't look right. She looks 54 trying to look 20. And I'm with you on the costs of makeups. I don't buy much and would never ever ever spend 35.00 on a lipstick. I buy makeup on clearance and it lasts me forever.

hi MsTickle long time no see. You know I like to look my best for myself as I am shy and always have to boost my self esteem. I keep my hair clean and shiny, wear a little eye shadow and some lipstick every day. I wear clean pretty tops and a skirt daily and it makes me feel good just to know I am looking my best even if its just in front of the residents here in Gold crest. I can be laid back, this is California but not lazy sloppy as I am a snior citizen and need to look good.We get enough of a bad rap from younger people who have medieval ideas on how older people are and look, and they are not really nice ideas either.

sorry to bump right in here but i had to say how delightful it is to read some of Hatleys responses. i was reading it and thinking about an elderly lady i worked for a few years ago when i cleaned houses. she was 86 yrs. and id go there 7am 3 days a week and she always came to the door with clean, ironed clthing on and all her make-up and her hair done just so. even that early and even if she was busy cooking and doing other housework her self. thing is, i came dressed to clean with my hair all thrown back in a pony tail and no make-up and old clothes. but this lady was a wonder to see and always nice to look at. she also helped her hubby dress nicely and combed his hair, etc. he was 91, himself.

im afraid these days i rarely dress up or even care. most times all that sees me is my son. i used to dress up a lot when hubby was with me or when i had a male friend seeing me. except when i went to work and then i cleaned houses and became a general caregiver, so really no need. so what about you mstickle? what do you do?

Sometimes I look like a derelict around the house but I'm slowly throwing out my more decrepit clothes. I've gained so much weight, it's hard for me to look good any more but I dress up when I go visit my Dad and when I go shopping. The further I go the more I do. I make sure I'm neat and clean, makeup on, hair brushed and tidy. I don't have a daily beauty routine and no matter how I try I can't be bothered with the moisturiser day and night even though my skin is terribly dry. I've been buying shower stuff with moisturiser but it's not helping.

For me I always make sure that I enjoy how I dress and I am comfortable with it. If you aren't then most likely you won't be able to look your best and you won't end up looking good. I used to look my best for people to notice back then when I was younger. Then when time flies, I then realized that I should look my best for me and for no one else. So I dress comfortably to be able to reflect how I enjoy the outfits I wear.

I think the majority of us dress to please ourselves. I know some people are accused of or think they are dressing to please someone else but I can't believe anyone will deliberately wear something they feel uncomfortable in for the purpose of pleasing another....unless it's a uniform required for work or something but that's not what I'm speaking of here. Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I received no alerts for thios or the next several responses to my discussion here.

I am like that. I don't go out the house without anything on my face. I spend just enough for my cosmetics and other stuffs for beautification.I have morning and evening beauty routine. It is very important for me to look good always even if there are problems, I make it a point that I will still look good and okay. I don't have to show to anyone that I'm not okay. Because I believe your looks will somehow reflect your state of emotions. No one will take care of yourself but you. So we need to invest a bit for ourselves and feel good about yourself. If I look good, I also feel good.

In my daily life, i like to wear confortable clothes and never make up. I think it's not good for skin. I like to live without decoration. Natural and simple is my choice.

But He said we were not a bank and refused our requirment. If the boss can't care about our feelings, I also don't listen to him.
