who other than Indians use Tamarind in their menu

We Indians use Tamarind pulp in our cooking, specially we south indians use it everyday.what about other country people guys.....

In the Philippines , we also use that. We call it "sinigang sa sampalok". It is a soup with meat and vegetable... We also make it as candy for dessert. It so delicious!

It is not something that we use in the UK in ccoking as a rule. However it is available and I have used it in a couple of recipes, I get it from a Thai shop near to me!
