My husband and I just had an argument about what to cook for supper that is easy and cooler too. I say hot dogs and he says hamburgers with my reasoning being hot dogs are quicker and you can zap them in the micro. but hubby says hamburgers cuz they are just better. What is easier and handier to you?

the clean up is so much nicer on hotdogs too. pull out the mustard and relish chop and onion, boil some water. done. hamburgers ... make patties, add seasoning, grease up your pan and stove, figure out where to store the grease so you dont kill your drain, and all your condiments.......

Hot dogs would be easier and quicker to fix. They don't take as long as hamburgers do. Whether you cook on the stove, or charcoal grill, or open campfire, hot dogs are the way to go.

Boy oh boy do I agree with you ! I hate the thoughts of getting hamburger meat out and making patties and then cooking in a skillet. I do have a small grill that works very nicely but I guess it's just to blamed hot and we had to have an argument over the two foods :) Oh and then cutting and slicing tomatoes, onions, finding the pickles and the mustard, the mayo, the cheese, etc...........drears ! Thanks for making my day !!!!!

If I was under a time limit it would be hot dogs, if it were my choice it would be burgers.

Ah good ! A person with wants of her own !! I too would choose the burgers tho hot dogs certainly fits the bill when one is in a hurry. And HOT. Keep up the good work wanting and getting what you want :) later, and thanks, quita

Although hamburgers are much tastier, hot dogs are much easier to prepare. Aside from that, it's easier to clean up the pan when cooking hot dogs than hamburgers. :)

I agree I too would rather have a burger but then it's so blasted hot I wanted the easiest. Hubby wanted burgers but didn't want to cook them......oh no! let quita do it! NOT! But the hot dogs won out and the cleaning was easy and I got to sit and watch TV and be a happy camper LOL thanks, quita

Hot dogs are easier but they're very bad for you, I agree with your hubby about the hamburgers being better. We don't eat hot dogs in our household, not only because they're nasty but because my 5 year old cousin ate a hot dog with her family & got a deadly strain of E.coli from it. She was hospitalized for a month and doctors told the family it will take 5 years before she's considered fully recovered. So while hot dogs may seem easier, in the long run, go for the burgers. :)

OH so sorry bout your cousin! I guess E. coli can happen anywhere tho. Yes, the hot dogs were faster and it was cooler in the kitchen and I too was happier. I am so sorry this unfortunate incident happened to your family and I will take every precaution. thanks for your input, quita88

quita I agree with you that hot dogs are quicker to fix and also much cooler as you do not have to heat up the grill or whatnot, and too men always want whatever takes the most work. tell him if that what he wants here my apron and my spatula so have fun as I am going to set down in front of the fan while you make hamburgere.he he.

OH, Hatley seems you and me seem to think on the same lines. I told him (already) that he can go out and kick off the grill and HE can make the patties and HE can watch it and suffer from the heat and HE can also cut up the onions, the tomatoes, get the cheese and the mayo , mustard and ketchup. You know, HE might do it too.............but I'll be in side with a hot dog and staying cool. Thanks Hatley !! WE women have to stick together. hugs, quita

I would say hot dogs too because you can boil them in water, microwave them or cook them on the grill. The only problem with cooking them on the grill though is sometimes they roll all over the place. A hamburger all you have to do is flip over but they take a lot longer to cook than a hot dog.

I say hot dogs because one can make them on the stove and it takes about five minutes. I also have a George Foreman Grill and this time of the year I use it quite a bit. If you have a grill both cook easily and quickly.

Whoa! Good ! You are in agreement with me ! Hooray !! I don't have a George Foreman Grill but do use a pan and boil the weiners for a bit. Still the hot dogs tonight were easy and great for me and believe it or not, Hubby enjoyed them too as he did not want to get out and mess with the grill LOL SEE? told him and so did YOU. later and thanks for responding. quita88

Hot dogs are definitely easier to cook. It seems that what you're husband is saying isn't that hamburgers are easier to cook...From what you've said, it seems as though he just preferred to eat hamburgers at the time lol Which is completely understandable. But hot dogs take almost no time to actually cook, especially if you're using the microwave to do it.

Thanks for your understanding...........and hubby would thank you too LOL I agree tho hamburgers would be better tasting..........but only if hubby wants to go outside and cook them :) I could do them on the stove but it's so hot here and I just wanted to keep things cool and still feed us til the argument came up. Hubby now understands too cuz he didnt want to go out and kick off the grill. I do use the micro but also use a small pan and boil the weiners for a few minutes. Still the hot dogs were GREAT and the kitchen and ME were cool. Thanks ! quita88

Well, hamburgers taste better in the end, if done right. But hot dogs are much faster. Just don't use the microwave. Even though hot dogs are already cooked. Putting them int he microwave takes the flavor out. Unless you have a technique I'm unaware of. My vote goes to hot dogs.

I do use the micro but also use the pan of water. We had the hot dogs and no further discussions were needed as Hubby finally did agree with me as he did not want to go out and start the grill :) The only technique I use in the micro is to put them in on a plate, nuke them for a minute and then eat ! Not bad !
