Did the earth move for you, too?

I went to Niagara Falls today with a friend. It seems to be an annual event, as we did it last year, too. There's a special deal where, for only $10, we get a return bus trip to Fallsview Casino AND a voucher for a $20 all-you-can-eat buffet. Obviously, we go for the food.
Anyway, while we were pigging out we felt some movement. My friend accused me of shaking the table! But I recognized it as earth tremors. I feel them sometimes lying in bed (get your mind out of the gutter!).
When I got home and turned on my computer, I saw a news item that said a 5.0 magnitude (moderate) earthquake happened at about that time... in Quebec! Seems it was felt in the northeasternern states too.

I BRed you by mistake. That's not to say your response isn't the best, just that I didn't mean to pick BR yet.

I did that to somebody else last week. We could start a club "random acts of BR"...

Yeah, I think you are far enough away from it in Tenn. But it was felt in New York state.

I turned on CNN after i read your discussion & they were talking about it. I'm glad it wasn't worse than what it was. They were showing a news report while it was happening & looked like everyone was really frightened. I would have been to. Take care.

My husband was outside mowing the lawn so he was making enough noise and movement that he didn't feel it. In fact he gave me "that look" when I mentioned it to him... until I told him it was all over the television.
My younger daughter was in school. She didn't feel anything but a classroom across the hall had all their desks moving. How do you figure that?
My older daughter and I were in the basement at our computer desks. We felt the tremor and I heard the walls creaking. That's when I knew it was an earthquake.
You know what was really ironic? We were (well, I was) watching a soap on television and right after that one of the character referred to an earthquake. I didn't hear what she was talking about, maybe Haiti since the show was taped a couple of months ago. But what are the odds of that happening - a taped show mentioning an earthquake right after we felt one?

That could be funny, if it wasn't ironic...
And then there was the tornado in Midland... while at the casino, my friend and I watched some people play one of the slots based on The Wizard of Oz...
In one of my dreams last night, a radio announcer said it was "National Stay in Bed Day" today. Sounds like good advice to me.
