I think we earn to live because when we are not earning we can't buy anything, so to buy anything we need to earn money. We are living in a world where no one offer you food or shelter without any money.....In back days when the people were living in the villages with each other, they share their food and their shelter also. But in now days we have to earn some money to live..........Look at that in now days the water also cost.......you the water which the mother nature give us free we are selling them for money...........

I'm earning to live. I don't live to earn. Some people do, but I think their lives are pathetic. I'm happy with what I do. It contributes to the world as long as I have a roof over my head, enough food to eat, and can sustain my internet connection and my cat I'm a pretty happy person. I won't get rich being a freelancer, but that doesn't matter to me.

I think people start off earning for a living and then when they realize how much their welfare and happiness depend on money then they start living to earn. The ultimate point of living should be being happy and everything else should be sub parts that we can live without. When we are working hard to earn money, it is easy to forget that we need to be happy.

Depends on your lifestyle and where you stay. If you live in rural area where life is simple, I will say earn to live. They just have to worry about bringing food on the table. For those living in the urban/cosmopolitan area, it is the opposite. They need to work hard for their moolah to support their lavish lifestyle. So, live to earn.

I think it is earning for living but this is not necessary that we have to have lots of money just to live, but for me we have to earn just to have a food to eat three times a day and to buy some things that we need and wants as a human being, and there are lots of things that can make us happy not only the money but also our friends, love ones, family, and our likes in life.. and I believe that love of money is a sin..

Hi, It depends. In my consideration the purpose of a human life can be anything excepting earning. Yes, we have to earn for our living. But different people have different purposes in their lives. So case might be that one lives just for earning. In that case it is good for him to pursue that aim, until he reaches or replaces it with a new one. Thanks. God bless you

I think if a poor person is ask this question he might answer they only earn to live their life and they are only living in this world just to earn so that they can live their life. It is really hard to answer such question people should base on their economic status in life. As for me I think I earn for my food, things I need in my daily living mostly its like I earn to live. I never think about I live just to earn money, I always think that I have other purpose why I am living in this world. I want to live to protect our nature, I want to live to serve god, live for my family and my future own family I want to live and enjoy my life.

Money is only a means to an end... there is nothing wrong for the need and the want to have one.. but the love for money per se is a sin

We've evolved into a way of life where we don't need to create our own foods, and we don't need to get out own water. We're now living only to continue living, and to pass the time we have entertainment and others tools to make life easier and our needs easier fulfills. To get those tools, we need money. So I think we're earning for living, but we've got to such a point that we don't need a lot of things we use, and in that way we're living to earn more useless junk that we somehow think will make our lives better (sometimes it does).
