Wherever I go, may it be to school, malls or houses, I always see santan plant. Perhaps it is easy to grow. I could remember that my grandparents has yellow and red types in the garden. Then, I saw violet ones in the mall the last time I went there.I wonder if other countries also have santan.

me too! I even did this in highschool! We'll make necklaces, bracelets and rings after we sip the nectar of the flowers. I don't really get the flavor of the santan, it's just fun to see a drop of santan nectar and lick it off. haha

I also see santan everywhere. This plant has been in my sight since I was a little kid. The variety of santan have improved a lot. They are still beautiful to my eyes. We can plant more santans.

Its Latin name is Ixora coccinea and it is a tropical plant native to Asia otherwise known as Jungle Geranium, Flame of the Woods, and Jungle Flame. In countries with a Mediterranean or Tropical climate, it can be easily grown outdoors and is used as a hedging plant. In Temperate regions it can be grown in a greenhouse or as a house plant. I have never seen it growing in the UK (that I have noticed), though it may well be found in the glasshouses of our Botanical Gardens.
