I must admit that once I was so eager to buy a house in the ceter of our city, then I can go to the big supermarkets and buy clothes so conveniently.Luckily I have not got enough money all times so I'm still living in my husband's country home. Now I really enjoy the country life,it's only five minutes to the town center and there are many forests and rivers too which you can go at any time as you want.Today we netted about 1kg lobsters in the small river beside our house in the evening,it's so wonderful,as you know it's about 20 yuan a kg in the market these days. Do you like country life as me?

I was born and raised in the city until I got married at 30 and moved to the country with my husband. We live in a small wooden house by the beach while we ran the family resort. We started our family and raised 3 kids here until recently when we decided to lease out the resort and move to the city. Our family really enjoyed those years and still miss our old place every now and then. There, we can watch the sunset every afternoon, build bonfires at night, swim anytime and eat fresh food everyday. So this summer, we took our vacation in the resort so we can visit our house. If you ask me, you are better were you are now. And as for us, maybe, we shall return to our old life when the lease is done and the kids a little older.

So beautiful a place your home is in.I have spent my four years colleage life near the sea and it's memorable, even now I have dreamed of going back to visit the beach.Lying on the beach and listening to the sound of the wave is so wonderful and can peace the mind and forget all worries. If I were you,I would return to the beach life if there are not other reasons.

Countryside - rural area
I definitely prefer living in the city, because I'm an active and independent person. Unfortunately, at the moment I have no other choice than to live in the countryside, 20 km away from the city. I feel secluded. At least, we have running water, mobile internet and satellite tv. I live in a poor area and this things are a luxury here (except satellite tv, which almost anyone seems to have). Not to mention that I have to walk almost 3 km on a country road to get the bus to the city.

The country life can only be enjoyable to us with basic infrastructure as we have get used to them in the city, like ease of transportation and communication. It's impossible to say love when you have to walk 3km muddy road on rainy days.

I grew up in the city and I was born here. So I really would love to live in the province. I just don't know if I can last long. There are times that I wish I just live the simple life of rural folks. They seem to be happy and live a less stressful life.

I have worked in a strange city alone and I felt I was in an emptiness after work,no friends nearby,no relatives and no known neighbours.Compared to the alienated city, the country life is more simple and easy to live.

We have to live first and then to choose the living place.Living in the city can be convenient to go to work and save traffice fees,so there's nothing to worry about not living in the country.

There are some benefits to living in the country. I've lived in the country all my life. It's nice and quiet and very few neighbors. However, it takes 10 - 20 minutes minimum to get to the grocery store or to the bank. I'd like to live in the city though. I am ready for a change,

As for me i prefer to have country life because it is less stressful and sirene. It allows me to relax and have time to think clearly. Compared with the city life where the hussle and buzzles of everything just saps the energy out of you.

Yes, I like a country life and to have a house in a country. Since I work in the city, so it is essential to rent a house in the city for easy mobile. This is a practice now, to rent a house or a room in the city and come back home in the country house every weekend.

The city life and country life have their own advantages. In city, you can live a convenient life.In country side, you can live a clean life.I prefer country life in daily life. But the fact is that i can not live in the country side because of working in the city.It is an ideal of my future life.

I like the city life. I don't think i can stand the peace and the quiet of normal life. I am always the rock and roll type of person. So i like to just hang out at places with my friends and let them have fun with me. It's really enjoying and i prefer that to country life. I don't think i can handle the cows and chickens really well so i just stay at home and try to find a way out myself.

You are the first here who loves city life so much, ravi. And city is the best place to enjoy noisy and the rock and roll life. But country life does not mean handling cows and chikens all time, here we have no cattle at all,we have normal work and come back home everyday.I call it country life just because it's somehow far away from the center of city and we have a detached house.I don't know how to handle the cows and chickens too:)

I prefer the country life. Although its far from the city and far from the malls, its also far from the city pollution and noise. Certainly there are some supermarket situated at countrysides where i can buy groceries. The movies and technology, i can buy at the city and bring back home. So i dont really miss alot of things out in the country. Its much more healthier because its much more green in the country and there are alot of places i can intervene with nature. Also, it has lower crime rate compared to the city. If I am missing anything in the city, a trip there could do it already.

You are living a wonderful life digidogo. The supermarkets are almost saturated with city and now have began to shift to the countries so we can have a convenience of buying goods.Besides the country have a lower pressure of traffic,I always fear of the busy vehicles in the city very much.

i like the city life but i also want to have a vacation house in the country too..so that whenever i get fed up with the city life i'll just move back to my vacation house and chill for a month..i will never exchange the smell of fresh air in the country for anything else in the world..also time seem to move too slowly there so you get to enjoy every second of it unlike living in the city, time seems to fly too fast in the city..

It's really a good way to relax by lying on the a deck chair and looking at the clouds and birds flying on the sky.The time seems frozen then.If you feel tired of the city you can go on a vacation to the country at any time, anyway, there are lots of hotels you can choose.

City life can be so hectic. Everyone is always rushing and on the move. I prefer country life myself. A rural setting is so much more relaxing and laid back. I enjoy life more without the fast pace.

People in the city are just like busy running ants and we can easily forget what we are living for.The country's slow tempo can give us chance to slow down and more time of thinking.

I like city life better, but not big citys. I'm studying in Beijing, it's too noisy and crowded, life in such is really awful. I also dont like country because the traffic is too inconvenient. I prefer living in a city like my hometown Dandong, a small city with a suitable population. But I admire you, the ecology is protected too well in the place you are living. I can't net any eatable thing in any river in my hometown because of pollution.
@ann101 (518)

It's not so well here as you imagine. The ecology here is facing the pollution of thousands of companies too, just because the local government have earned so much money through foreign investments and sacrificing enviroment,so it have enough money to protect the ecology in the recent years. This year there are many water weeds by the riverside and my husaband says it shows that the water quality is becoming better now. Beijing is facing serious water shortages for population expansion these years and I have seen news that Hebei-my hometown-is transfusing "blood" to beijing recently although Hebei is also lack of water very much.So it's a better choice to choose living in a small town otherwise the big city maybe really collapse down in the near future.

Argh, I wrote a long answer only to see IE crash. Basically, I said I don't use supermarkets and big shopping centers, but I'd like more choice than just one local store. Also, I probably wouldn't have use any of the country life's benefits, like hikes in the forest, or fishing in the like...

I have met the same IE problems as you often after I have written a long contenent,it's a bad experience.More local stores can be good to us for their competitions, now I seldom go to the big supermarket for it's hard to find what you want in the so many racks.

when I was younger I used to live in the city. I loved it. But as I got older and moved to the country I got quieter and calmer. It feels well sad. I adjusted to the country life. Now I think maybe it's the reason why I feel so lonesome. It depends on how you want to feel I guess.
