World Cup Analysis: Another Upset: Italy bites the dust?

Its very sad to see that the both the finalist of 2006 worldcup have crashed out in the first round. Italy even after having a very good team have not been able to perform in the big stage. They made a huge mistake of not making experienced players like pirlo gattuso to play in the starting 11. Seems like there will be some more upsets to the favourites.

As expected. Ever since they played their first game, I just had that feeling that Team Italy doesn't have that drive, that motivation to win the World Cup again. And so they lost and got eliminated. It's becoming more of a notion that defending champions tend to crash out if not in the early rounds but in the end probably because of that overwhelming expectation of their fans which puts them into a lot of pressure.. then there's probably that inexperience by new members of the team and whatever reasons. Still, they lost. So definitely we'll be crowning new Fifa World Cup champions by next month. Best of luck to your teams. Team Argentina is mine. =)

I didn't see the match myself today but I was shocked to hear the news. Ever since I can remember Italy have been a world cup team that have always done really well, so hearing that they had gone home early was a suprise for me.

Italy is never my favorite. I was even very upset when they won in 2006 since I don't think they deserved it. There have been too many dives, drama, and nasty talks in their paths to victory. I'm happy that they were out of this tournament...

it was a mind blowing game .i was very astonished to see Italy to lose. this world cup ,i don't know what is happening. Italy - last time champions and France -last time runner up are no more in this world cup. they didn't played well for some time in the match against Slovakia. they could only score a goal after the Slovakian's scored 2 .even though they tried their best to catch the draw in the last few minutes they couldn't make it. i feeel very sad about them . i thought they would atleast reach the quarter final.but they made me very sad. any way lets tune for the remaining big games to come. go go argentina!!!

i'm happy that italy has been knocked out, because some italians laughed because spain lost against switzerland, but if spain beats chile the next who will laugh will be us the spanish, but is most ridiculous being unable to win the allpowerful neozeland team and slovaquia ( switzerland are better team than these 2) so who laughs last laughs better XD

hey ram hi. hmm i was disappointed about italy's match today after all they are the defending champions. but was an interesting game. goal over a goal . it was nice. but if italy had played with the effort they kept after 80 minutes in the first half the game would have been different.
