How do you alter your preferences?

I've started a discussion and some of the answers have some 'mature' content, and I've been told that I need to alter my preferences to be able to view those answers. I've gone to the preferences section, but it only lets me alter my interests, bank details and e-mails etc. Could anyone tell me how I'm suppose to alter my 'preferences' so that I had read the answers that have the so-called 'mature' content?
