I have often thought of why I am here, why God created me.I have always been told that we all have a purpose in life. But,everytime I think I have figured out what it is then something happens to make me think differently. What do you think is your purpose in life? How do you think we can find it out for ourselves?

Good morning Donna, I guess we have many purposes in life. I think they change as we grow older. when i had my first son i thought my purpose was to be a good mom & thought i was. Now he doesn't have anything to do w/me. I don't understand why & have never gotten an explanation as to why he's acting the way he is. i guess our purpose just comes along when we are needed by someone.

Our real purpose in life can be found in the Bible in Revelation 4:11, "God had created all things for his pleasure", it means as a creation of God we ought to make God always happy, let us not make God be angry with our life, we ought to praise Him always, Psalm 113:3 says that "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised". We can only please God with our life by doing the right thing, by doing the things that are pleasing to Him,. I believe that is the main purpose of our life. I hope this will answer your question.

Well my purpose of life is to live each and every minute and enjoy whatever comes, it may be a challenge, task or anything. I personally feel the only thing in our hand is action, circumstances keep coming and how well we deal with it gives us happiness. If you start considering God as director of the movie life, then just keep doing whatever comes your way in the best way you can do it, once you will prove your worth, he himself will promote you to your right place.

God has created us to reflect his love, his personality, his qualities. He created us to work along with Him. He created us to enjoy life as He does. When we do that we are truly happy. Soon He will bring about great changes for the earth. All the negative things that mar happiness will be gone. What a bright future is in store for us. What roadblock have you come up against?

Im a Past Life Therapist (partime) and I truly think that the only way to know for sure your purpose in life is to regress in your past lives and then you find out why. BUT, we are mainly here to learn. When you think you know.....its time to learn something else. Once you've learned it all, done it all, been in all the religions, tried everything you can possibly try, then your time on earth is over and done with but there are always other planets or missions you can be active on to help others. Its a never ending cycle. I pray that my next life is spent in the invisible world. Id rather not have a body.

every normal human being has a particular purpose in life...doctor,engineer,teacher etc etc...not only in being professional but purpose can be also something related to emotions like keeping everyone happy...but i would like to tell you about the practical purpose of my life...when i was small my purpose used to change every week hehe...but in my 9th standard i started learning dance...though i loved dancing from my childhood days only....when i started dancing i realised nothing intersts me more than dance...whether i am in a sad mood, disappointed mood, irritated mood i never step back from dancing ...i had a strange love for dance and that is when i realised dancing is my purpose and being a famous and successfull dancer is my aim... when i say this to many people they react weirdly..they feel dance can just be a liking but cant be love,passion,purpose..they feel dance is just a mode of entertainment but not the word of the soul..they feel dancing is just a waste of time and not the way to fulfilling ones dream..but i oppose all these negative thinkings...can education be the only love, purpose in ones life?? cant cultural interest of a person help one person to stand on his/her own feet?? then how does the world know michael jackson-king of pop...kishore kumar, saroj khan, leonardo da vinci...and many more...they have set an example for all thopse who want to build up a career in the cultural field...people around me say it is tough to make a place in the dancing world...it is not possible the feel...but are all doctors famous?? are all engineers earning in lakhs?? no...so i feel purpose should always be ones life and his/her own interest and not think about what the society will feel and what he/she will achieve...just keep on practicing with honesty and faith...postive result will come out no matter how much we have to struggle..i would like to wosh all the best to all those who aspire to become a singer, dancer, painter etc etc ..just folow your heart and dream,, so my purpose in life is to be a dancer ...a famous, good and a sucessfull one and i would go to any extent to fulfill my dream and i am sure my hardwork wont go into vain...god is there with me.... :)

Part of what I think our purpose in life is, is mainly centered around survival - getting up in the morning; getting to work or college or doing the shopping to feed ourselves and who ever else we live with. Of course, we each have ambitions we want to fulfill and have firm belief in something other than ourselves such as a religion, but not all of the world's population believe in say the notion of God, only what matters to their existence. Many middle Eastern countries have no choice but to follow the cultural, religious and political values of their society, so for them, anything outside of this could be considered selfish greed because they are then betraying the lifestyle that is already set out for them. In America, Britain and European countries, there is a different kind of freedom because we live in something called a democracy even if it can be corrupt at times, but because we have more personal freedom, this creates challenges we must make more informed decisions about how it is we think we should live our lives instead of someone telling us how to. New experiences pop up all the time and that is all part of survival when it is how we cope with those changes that matter and adds to our overall personal development. You have a healthy outlook on life because you think outside of the box, not based upon your religion, so this means that you will become a more fulfilled person as times goes by and learn from mistakes a lot quicker than those who are too afraid of accepting change.

Hi dfolin, God created us in a way that each one of us is different. This is also true for our purpose in life. If you are searching for a spiritual answer then ask yourself what God-given skills and talents do i have that can be a tool for the purpose God has given me? It is not a question of job or career but a question of how do I fit in with God's plan. Do i make people laugh? Am i being a support? Am i an inspiration or an example? Do I teach them something? These are things to think about. In our fast paced lives, purpose always seem to lose the meaning. Stress, needs, career, personal stuffs and even pleasure hinder us from thinking and finding it out.

I don't think there is a purpose of life besides the one you give it. Depending what you believe you might think this a legitimate thing to do or not.
