Childbirth

Some say it is the worst thing they have ever had to encounter. For me, it was the easies thing that I have ever done. I was 5 cm dialated and didn't even know it. I couldn't even feel contractions. I went ahead and got an epi just in case I was to feel something. I think the worst thing about childbirth was the aftermath. OUCH! I hope that the second one goes as good as this one, but they always say that no two are alike.

I'm glad you started this discussion. While transition labor was painful, it is short. I can't stand to hear women telling pregnant women what a terrible experience childbirth was. I don't know what purpose this serves. While I do know plenty of women that had a hard delivery they all agree that the pain is quickly forgotten.

Oh, yeah I agree 100%. It's not like the afterpains were that bad, I just contracted a urinary tract infection b/c I did not pee at all while I was in labor. I went in the hospital at like 3 pm and she was born at 10:17 pm. Everything just went by so fast.

my daughter was easy (my first) water borke in the heaving had her at 2am and walked out of the hospital then next night and felt great. My son (2nd birth) was hard. 18 hours of labor and still couldnt get him out, had an emerency c-section and was layed up for 2 weeks. yeck

Awwww, I am already scared to have my 2nd one. I don't know what contractions really feel like, so I am really scared that I will once I have the 2nd child (if it ever happens)
