It was actually just a few months ago my gym finally added a Zumba class.. and it was so popular they've added a few more. So now they have 4 Zumba classes a week. I tried it when they first added the class.. I probably tried 3 or 4 classes. It was sort of fun, but for me it's not enough of a work out. I like to do things that are a lot harder than just dancing around for an hour.. then again, I'm very used to dancing because it's something I seem to constantly be doing whenever there's music playing.. so perhaps that's why it's not difficult enough for me. I gave it up after that.. and stuck with the more difficult classes that really got me sweating. But the other day I downloaded some Zumba music and was dancing around to that and decided I sort of missed doing Zumba. So I decided to go to the class today. My daughter, who also loves dancing, wanted to come with me, she's never tried it before.. but she loved it! She had a great time! Though we had a slight issue getting her into the class. First they told me kids weren't allowed.. but there's another girl who always brought her 6 year old daughter (and this girl is the reason they decided not to allow kids, she'd get in the way and leave half way through class and the older ladies would trip over her.. etc etc). Eventually one of the other staff fought for me and they allowed my daughter, and a few other kids, to join the class. Not sure what the future rule will be, if my daughter will be allowed to continue to go.. but then again I'm not certain I'll stick with it either.. we'll see. Have you tried Zumba yet?

Hey kats~ Since I don't go to any gyms I am not familiar with the word "Zumba"! I am guessing it is some modern mix of Rumba and some maybe new added steps? Or a mix of the Rumba and some other dances like maybe the Somba? I used to love to watch my parents dance when I was a kid. That is the only fond memory I do have. And they loved the Latino dances the most! And of course I inherited the love of dancing too! I still love to dance all the time! Sometimes I kind of overdo it and end up sorry, but then again it's worth it~

I also love dancing, though I've never taken any proper classes. Mostly it was in the clubs when I was younger, lol. That's why Zumba can be so much fun. I'm thinking of trying to go more often. On Monday there's a Zumba class right after my spin class, so it's the best of both worlds... a difficult work out followed by fun Zumba! Hopefully they'll continue to let my daughter go too because she LOVED it!

I have tried Zumba and have taken a couple classes. I am not into it, but it is a good work out if you do want to do. It really isn't that hard to me and doesn't get me soar at all. It is a fast pace dance and if you have rhythm you should be able to keep up with it pretty good. It is a easy class for me so im not to involved in it as i like a good workout know. I do some out of the class being all sweaty but i want to leave the gym in pain sometimes because i need a workout.

I'm the same way. But I took a boot camp class yesterday and am still sore from that, so figured doing Zumba today, which is a light work out for me, would be good.

Hi I have tried Zumba because I spotted there was a class in my village hall. As I had not been able to get to my usual dance classes I thought I would give it a go. For me Zumba is really good fun and I love the music
