I stay in India, Chennai, my daughter is into KV school, the school is into practical oriented teaching. they give lots of practical works and encourage oral activities like story telling, singing, and extempore. They teach through pictures, my daughter's note book is filled with drawings. What about your country's schools , how is the teaching?

That is very interesting to hear about the way that your daughter is taught. My daughter is going to be starting second grade next year and the way that she is schooled here in the United States is very traditional in orientation. They are taught in a classroom situation and are all taught at the same level. There are children that are held back by this method and there are other children that are pushed by this method of teaching.

My daughter too is in second std. This kind of teaching is practiced in other local schools. KV-Kendriya Vidhyalaya is a central school with centralized syllabus, which is same all over India.
