I love all kinds of fruit but I have yet to find a ripe and good cantaloupe, what do you think is wrong? How can you tell if they are ripe?

Hi. jahernandezrivas. I think that you should go by the way that the cantaloupe looks. If it looks normal into its color, then it may be ripe enough. Also if the insides of this fruit smells fresh and not sourly rotten, then the cantaloupe is ripe enough to eat.

I know here in MI, they are not in season and to get a good cantaloupe that has traveled many miles is hard to find right now.

farmers and scientist use some kind of ultrasound to detect if its ripe. But for the rest of the population, i think a best way is to look for that sound while snapping your fingers into it.
