Senator D*ck Durbin would like President Obama to appoint a ... wait for it.... Carp Czar!
You see Asian Carp are invading the Great Lakes. Turns out only a czar could fix that. The best count I can find, there atleast 44 czars currently being paid by us but only accountable to the President.
Do you have a more updated number? Do you think a czar will save the day? Do you find this as hilarious as I do?

Obviously you don't understand the severity of the Asian Carp in the Great Lakes. I mean, think about it...humanity has never fished, hunted, trapped an animal into extinction before. What makes you think we can eliminate the Asian Carp from the Great Lakes???
Besides, you know what happens once the Asian Carp become so plentiful that they become a major food source for something bigger...

No TGD, DinoCroc and Godzilla are sworn enemies. Once Godzilla hears that DinoCroc has taken over the Great Lakes and is eating all of Godzilla's favorite desserts, the war is on. DinoCroc v. Godzilla for the ages!!!!! Hurry up and call the prehistoric reptilian world war czar before it's too late!!!

Laglen, this isn't a joking matter, they have spent millions of dollars trying to keep these fish out of the great lakes, and nothing seams to work. They figure that it could cost the area hundreds of millions if the Carp take over, which could be very quickly. I don't think it is that big of a deal to require a czar, but it is a big deal.

oh you are kidding right? The fish and game people can't take care of this? I mean come on...it takes the federal government to take on a fish? Are we going to declare war on the carp? are we going to send the national guard? Is he going to pick a general for this war? Are they going to send Hilary to Asia to make sure they are not offended?
Let me get this straight...he won't fight the cartels...but he all for taking on a fish.
Oh good grief...this is like a bad SNL skit...only it is real.

I actually didn't believe you... yet it's true.
This is absolutely nuts. First, I think it's unconstitutional. We shouldn't have unelected people in positions of authority, unless specifically allowed for by the constitution. Why have a constitution at all if we are not going to follow it?
But I hope you don't mind, I'm going to share a quick story. Little off topic, but I think you'll like it.
Back in 2008 during the campaign, I was talking with a fellow conservative co-worker, about the absolute quackie ideas spouted by Obama.
If you remember, during the campaign he had a major announcement of new oil policy, which included.... inflating your tires.
Just the idea that a presidential candidate would have as a major national policy, a concept no more brilliant than 'reading the owners manual of the car', was hilarious. What's worse was the massive response of adulation from supporters for coming up with such brainless policy. At that my co-worker remarked that people in the Obama cult camp would likely cheer wildly at any announcement no matter how idiotic it might be.
This spawned an idea. When I got home, I downloaded an associated press article. I then fashioned my own completely fake press release, completely with AP logo.
The press release stated that Obama had announced a new national health care policy. Building on the success of the new 'energy conservation by tire inflation' policy, Obama now releases his new national health plan. The new national health care policy is... 'Diet & Exercise'.
I then cited dozens of health care professionals supporting the plan, and backing by AARP and other groups.
I even faked a specific interview with a Swedish professional, named Dr. Offiesous, (pronounced 'obvious') talking about how his research showed a savings of billions a year, and thousands of lives saved and so on.
With my finished faked press release, I posted it on a politics forum.
What blew me away was... EVERYONE BOUGHT IT! People on the right were talking about how dumb Obama was. People on the left were defending it, and saying 'well we just have to see, it might work'. and on and on. I mean page after page of responses debating the pros and cons of Obama's new "Diet & Exercise" plan.
I couldn't help but join in the debate and start arguing how stupid Obama was for coming up with such a dumb plan (that I completely fabricated).
No one figured it out. Not one. It fit in so well with Obama's other retarded ideas, that no one could tell the difference between a real Obama policy, and a completely fabricated one.
Finally, after about 5 days of debate, I let everyone know I faked the whole thing. The leftist were completely embarrassed to shame, and the rightists laughed hysterically for days. I posted the fake press release and the responses at work. It was a great laugh.

According to Wikipedia's article "List of U.S. executive czars," President Obama has 32 "czars," of which 8 have been confirmed in their actual position by the Senate. I say "actual position" because "czar" isn't actually a job title so much as a job responsibility. The people who take on the "czar" responsibilities have titles like "Director of this" or "Assistant Secretary of that," some of which are Administration positions that don't require Senate confirmation and others of which do (e.g. the TARP Czar, aka United States Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Stability)
BTW, 32 "czars" is three fewer than GWB had. Care to comment on GWB's czars?
