Why do you believe in God?

I believe in God because it is what we learned from the society, that such God exists. I've been thinking these days, if God really do exists. It was said that everything in this world is made by God. Who told us that God made these? The priests, bishops, cardinals, the pope. Where did these people got this information? From the Bible. Who wrote the Bible? People from the past. Where did these people based the content of the Bible? From Jesus. It all started with Jesus. We have Christianity because of Jesus. But why did Jesus told us how powerful God is? My theory, I think, the people who started these religion thingy, thinks that we need something that is more superior than us human beings. In the "real world", we are the most superior of all the other species. But if the "spirit world", that is, God is the superior being, will be connected to the "real world" then, we, the human beings will never be the superior, but God itself. If God don't exist, then we will be like animals forever. :)

I believe in God not because I learned them from society or have been passed down to me by my parents. I believe in God because I accepted Him in my life. And most of the times I have been encountering Him in my lowliest of days. Ponder on these: Let's say you accepted Him and believed in Him, then at the end of your life you then found out that God didn't exist at all, but what did you lose? Turn it around then, let's say you did not believe and here comes the end before you knew it you met God and found out that He does exist but because you are not a believer you are not qualified to have everlasting life. Who then is the loser?

"Let's say you accepted Him and believed in Him, then at the end of your life you then found out that God didn't exist...what did you lose?" First of all, you'd realize that you had wasted your time, effort, money and resources, which is no small mistake. Secondly, there are more than two choices. There are many gods that people have invented, so you need to believe in them ALL, just in case you are wrong. My biggest problem with this "Pascal's Wager" type arguement is, what sort of Ruler of the Universe would respect an intellectual coward?

I believe in Him because of the fact that I'm living everyday. Believing in someone whom you haven't seen ever since entails strength in faith and it's amazing that I don't find it difficult doing it. And I believe it's His divine intervention that makes me believe in every bit of blessing in my life. It's mysterious, but with Him, it becomes easy to understand. He has His ways and no one can ever question that.

Hi zel2zel First off, welcome to mylot. I wish you the fantastic and educational experience that I have had since returning. Rather then attempt to address all of your questions, I would like to focus on one. You believe that the Bible came from Jesus. Jesus was New Testament, however He was forecasted in every book of the Old Testament. Our Bible was started by the prophets in the Old Testament. God inspired the prophets to write what He wanted as guidelines for our lives. When He sent Jesus to us, as His merciful gift, God inspired the disciples to write the New Testament, giving us new guidelines to live by. Where do I get my information? Faith. God bless you Prosperous mylotting

My belief in God doesn't come from society. In my particular home city, the majority of society seems to disagree with me. I was raised a Christian, but that doesn't mean I was brainwashed into believing it. I almost abandoned it at one point during my life, but then I encountered God in a way I never had before. I believe today because of what I've been through, and what I've come to know and understand.

I was born in a Bubbhist family. But when I was a child, God have called me, I felt that I "liked" Him. But I didn't answer His call. He still called me many times but I didn't answer Him. Untill a day, a special day, He called me again, and He showed me to see what he could do. At that time, I knew that He always here, everywhere. And I answered: "Yes".
