What era would you prefer to live?

June 26, 2010 11:44am CST
Having been watching 'Goodnight Sweetheart' recently I wondered what era others would choose to live in other than the day we are living now? Many people say they are born in the wrong time for many reasons are you? If I had to choose I would probably not go back too far really as I like my mod cons. I was born in the eighties and would probably only go back as far as being born in the fifties perhaps so I could live through the 60's and 70's where a lot of things seemed more relaxed and fun though still with enough mod cons. What about you?

I would like to go into the Dinosaurs era....lol...i really love those animals and wish to see them alive just walking next to us and being petted by us, at least less scary ones...if not, i would like to go back to 20s and 30s, i really love those lifestyle and culture they followed then except the fearful wars that happened those years

i like to live in 70-80s the food are cheaper and lifestyle before was not that bad today.and before is probably more safer than today, there are more parks, recreation that are pro-environment which has starting to destroy now because of human activity.i observe about many diseases are new right now and unlike before its way different nowadays.

I wouldn't want to live in any other era than the one I'm in now. But, if I had a time machine there are several periods of time I would like to travel back to see. The first would be World War II. I would also like to travel back in time to 1812 and see all those great naval battles in the age of sail. I would also like to travel back to the days of Alexander The Great, to the time when Coca Cola was invented, and to 1912 when the Titanic sank. There are many other periods of history I would like to visit but these are a few of the ones I would visit first.

I would have loved living in the era of the American Revolutionary War. America was just being born and the fight for our freedom and independence was a dream of so many. It was a time of pulling together for something so many believed in. I would have loved to be a part of that.

Can I say the future? I mean, I am pretty sure life is better today than it was before, because technology has advanced so much, and we also live longer and all that. But I think life will be even better for humankind in the future, so I would really like to experience that if I could. If I can't say the future though, I guess it would be the 60's and the 70's as well. It seems like a fun time!

Hm, I'm not sure if I'd prefer to live in a different era. We're pretty spoiled with Tv's and computers, etc in this era. And I love the technology haha. There's a lot of eras I would love to go back in time, though. Like, I really love the Victorian era/early 1900's/late 1880's. I really enjoy the style, and I'd really like to see what it was like to live in that time period. I also think experiencing the 60's or the 70's would be really awesome, too. To be part of all the change with race and gender and fighting for rights, I'd want to be one of the women with an 'equality now!' sign definitely. Maybe the 80's, but I don't know if I'd want to stay there for too long haha.

WEll I grew up in the 50s I was a teen and loved the music that came form then. Every thing was easier then I think we didnt get hurt by not wearing all that junk they want ya to put on kids now day. and we got disaplended with out threat of welfare people getting into parents business. Aslo bak then kids had to use thier heads to get thur school and read! to past tests. we werent over weight either for we had to play outside getting freash air and running off what ever we ate! I make sure now that my grand daughter get plenty of out side time and not set infront of teh tv all the time. Then to I think I was born to late I would have loved to have been back in the old west times but not as a housewife but one that had my own ranch and break horses and do all the ranch work along side my ranch hands. Also sometimes I think I was born back in the musketeer day as I would love to do sword fighting and such

I was born in the 1950's and honestly I probably wouldn't have survived to this age if I had lived in an earlier one. IF I could pick a time to live in, it would be the future, not the past.

Hi Elfbwillow, I think I would also like to grow up as a teenager in the 1960's, I was born in the 60's which is why I guess the music is familar as my mother would have played it, don't think I would want to get back furter than that as I too like my mod cons. Huggles. Ellie :D

I was born in October 1969 so only caught the very end of the 1960s and can't remember a thing about it!! So I think I would like to live through the 60s as an adult to experience the music, films, fashion and culture of the time.
