A healthy breakfast?

I'm trying to prepare as healthy a breakfast as possible. I've always thought that a healthy one was one that was rich in nutrients and gave lots of energy - such as eggs, baked beans, fruit, green salad. What else could we eat for breakfast that is healthy and good?

What I eat is usually a cereal which is healthy and not full of sugar. I also usually add fruits to it such as bananas, dried cranberries and raisins. By the way I eat my cereal dry with out milk. I will have a glass of chocolate soymilk or just a cup of tea with lemon. Then once a week I will have one or two eggs scrabbles or hard boiled with whole wheat toast that is lightly buttered. I think the healthiest breakfast is fruits with grains and fiber.

I usually end up eating a lot of cereal as well, but it's always loaded with too much sugar, so it's either just plain cornflakes or cope with the sugar. Does anyone know of any other cereals that has only a little sugar? A lot of muesli nowadays is packed with lots of dried fruit which also means high sugar. Any ideas anyone?

Eggs are great for protein. I'll eat fruit occasionally with a bagel thin with light cream cheese. I'll also eat yogurt. I usually drink water at breakfast but occasionally I'll drink a lowfat chocolate milk as I'm not too fond of regular milk. I don't eat cereal. Occasionally I'll eat something like chicken at breakfast but it's usually a small amount and just to help with protein purposes.

Yes, I like to eggs in the morning too, it's really good brain food, along with a little bit of chicken, although I rarely eat meat in the mornings. Yoghurt seems to be popular too. :) xx

I always try to have fresh orange juice,or mango juice..I also like taking sliced papaya along with it and breads are a must for me at breakfast. At other times, I have cereals, cornflakes and dried fruits, particularly raisins with milk. I don't drink milk everyday and instead I prefer a cup of tea. I only have omelet eggs during the weekend and in other days I prefer the boiled ones. I prefer preparing my own breakfast when I am at home.

I tend to like to prepare my own food too, for some reason i just a bit paranoid when someone else does it for me - nooo, not afraid of being poisoned(!), just worried about hygiene issues, very sensitive to foods that haven't been prepared in clean conditions, hence I'm very paranoid!

I alternate between two or three good breakfasts. Two are with eggs. Some mornings I eat two eggs with cheese in them. I also add fresh anaheim peppers and onions to the mix. Other mornings I cook only one egg and have a slice of whole wheat bread with the egg mix. Or I fry the egg and put it and a slice of cheese on a toasted whole wheat english muffin. the other choice I have is oatmeal. I like to cook real oatmeal (not the instant kind) and put a little honey in it. I also add walnuts (proteins and good fats) and some sort of berries. Sometimes I use frozen and sometimes I use fresh if they are affordable and available.

Yeah, eggs is definitely good for me, although two egs in the morning? I think I heard somewhere that you're only supposed to eat three eggs maximum in a week...? Anyone like to confirm that?

Milk and cold or hot cereal can be a healthy breakfast, depending on what is contained in the cereal. For optimal health, I would have an egg or even a slice of meat with it for protein. Cottage cheese and fruit is a good food. Fiber One makes a cottage cheese now, so you get some of the RDA of fiber in your cottage cheese. Sometimes I have some Tuna for breakfast especially if I am feeling sluggish. Nuts may be a good option if no one is allergic to them. I wish you much success in eating healthier!

Tuna is definitely a favourite with me, although I've never tried it in the mornings !

I eat a few different things that I think are good for you: first of all, I love scrambled eggs, so I have that from time to time (if you are trying to be particularly healthy, you can make it only with the egg whites, which are better for you), and eat a small salad on the side. I also like having some fat free yoghurt and some muesli or granola, and maybe a few pieces of fruit in it. Both these options are really yummy, and fill you up quickly, so I adore them. I also recommend starting your day with some hot water, with a few drops of lemon juice in it, that really kick starts your metabolism in the morning!

I eat oatmeal mixed with cinnamon, soy milk and a couple of almonds. This always hits the spot for me and I find that it is very healthy.
