Papers or Presentations?

Sometimes students have to write papers. Sometimes they have to give oral presentations. Which activity do you think is better for students? and why? Both ways have their positive aspects. Both ways encourage students to focus on a topic, search for informations and organize what they have collected. Giving oral presentation promotes the ability to prepare for ppt, using body languages and make oneself understood in front of a group while writing papers needs a collection of formal expressions.

I think both are better. If they doing truly very thing will be better for them. we can see some students copying or not working. In my experience both are good.
