How would it be?

I have seen that sometimes due to bad connectivity or some other connectivity problems, a post or discussion is posted twice(or multiple times). I recently saw a discussion which was posted twice one after another and it had also happened to me when my response was posted twice. But there is a workaround for it. I have seen on some social networking sites where if we try to post same text again(within short period of time, say five minutes), then it shows a message that the same text/message was posted a short while ago. I think that kind of solution here, will be good for us and myLot as the admin will not have to delete the posts being posted multiple times, and we also can be sure that nothing will go wrong due to connectivity issues. What you all think?

Nice idea sweetie, but i think when people post their first discussion or response and this happens, they should just leave the refresh button. That is the one that makes you post twice. Better to go back and see if it went through, than doing it again, don't you think? TATA.

But thats not the best thing to do!

I think there is a technological problem of your suggestion. That's the burden of the server will be much heavier, and finally cause a service paralysis. Word compare for many long posts can be a very hard work, and the connective question might be not very serious, so admin think it's not necessary to update the server for comparing.

That would be neat, but probably will not happen any time soon. In any case myLot staff is usually quite gracious about acting on our requests.

Because it doesn't seem to be that much of a problem. Mylot admins already know the site has bugs, and would rather members report them then find ways to skirt around them. They are trying to create stability, and adding flood control would be more of a nusence and create more bugs, then actually fixing something that they themselves may not have control over.

That is some sort of a technical glitch. They do have safeguards that anything does not get posted twice but that does happen. Here besides comments you can post your answer once again if you want to. Other social networking site you cannot give answer again if you have already given the answer once. May be this could be the reason.

NO, we can give answers or comments on social networking sites(might not be true for every site) multiple times, but if we try to post the same text(word to word) and within a very short time(which generally happens here) then we are not allowed to do so. Otherwise everything just works as of here.

That's a good suggestion. But I think it's better if we can edit our posts. If we happened to post twice then we can just delete the second one. I really don't know why MyLot doesn't allow us to edit our posts. But I hope they will implement this someday.

I have seen other posts regarding to avail the facility to edit posts but I think myLot admin don't want it to for some reasons. But at least the above thing can be implemented without any problems!

That's good idea. Mylot IT team have to improve this site in order to avoid multiple posted discussions or responses. I agree with you since I have two or three times experiences this situation when my internet connection going down to very extremely slow and the page didn't loaded. Sometimes when my internet connection very slow, I didn't meet tag page after posted response.
