Have You Spent a Holiday or Christmas all Alone? How does it feel to be alone?

Two years ago, i have spent a Christmas alone in my dormitory. I had to finish a research study before the holiday is over. Also the following New Year's eve, i was in the laboratory processing leaf samples i gathered from the farm. At the moment, I was alone in the whole university campus (well, except for some security guards on-duty) yet I was so absorbed by what i was doing that i have forgotten the world outside. Have you spent a holiday or a new year's eve alone? How did you feel about it?

Hello carsocmaguinsay! No, i never experience a holiday or Christmas alone, but i do want to experience that because i really love to be alone sometimes for me to think, relax and to have a peaceful time, you maybe feel lonely but i think it is really a great experience to be alone sometimes. Well that's only my opinion, thank you and God Bless..

I agree with you. I love to be alone most of the times. And I know for people like us, it's no big deal spending time alone may it be a holiday or not. Thanks. Please add me as friend if possible.

when i started to live alone i already learned how to spend christmas all alone as most of the time my siblings went to the family of their other half and my parents are in the province so i normally spent holidays alone even during new year. also for the fact that even during holiday we also have work though of course the pay is double aside from other pay. its alright with me besides i can still be with them even during regular days.

now, that's reasonable. anyway, holidays are just icons because we could make most of those moments with our families even on regular days...

I rather spend the festive season working. At least there is overtime pay. I do not mind spending time alone. I prefer to sleep or read book, and just enjoy the whole house to myself. Better still, to spend the time playing online game. It is just too bad that this kind of opportunity seldom arise.

I tried to spend my Christmas alone when I was in high school and college its not that bad I remember I am walking alone in the street while watching people do their own things with their friends and family. Well I have my own family and they celebrate Christmas together I just like I want to be alone that time.

I have the same experience ,like you . I was alone in my home on new year's eve three years ago , because my family go out for some important things . I had to watch TV all the night with my dog . At that time ,I feel a little lonely .I really realize that my friends and family is so important in my life ! Do you agree with me .?

Yes, I can be lonely sometimes. But just for a background, I am really some kind of detached with my Family. I guess because i came from a broken family. I grew up without my mum always around me. I was the only child they have (although both my parents have their own families now and i got half brothers and sister(s) from both sides). It's kinda complicated. I live with a relative during my childhood and maybe that's the reason why i am detached. Family relationships is kinda abstract for me, although i have considered my circle of friends as my family. Whew!
