Recently, in Victoria, Australia, we had a young man sentenced to thirty days in jail for blowing a bubble in court. The magistrate said he showed no respect for the court. The following week, a truck driver pleaded guilty to killing two young children when he ran a red light, and his truck crashed into the car they were in. The judge here said he had shown a lot of remourse.
How can we respect our justice system with judgements like these?

Of course, because the judge is also a human , things like this happens , injustice.
I think the truck driver should be sentenced heavily and for the young man, since he's still "young", should be forgiven.

I don't hink it's the system, so much as the power the judge, or magistrate has. In their cases the decisions both certainly sucked.

.. how can we trust that kind of justice.. we call it blind justice
