Is my boss crazy?

I think that your boss is crazy indeed. Ok it's possible that he can only promote one person, but if he calls you the pillar of the departement, than I think he should have chosen you.

jetyhk123 you are the victim of office politics thats what that is all about. I was being praised all the time by thebranchmanager of our library the assistant manager from hell was hired. nobody liked her and suddenly people were being moved to other branches and I was let go only becausethe assistant told m y boss fire that old woman or I quit. so Emily moaning abouot how hard this was for het to do as I was her best emp;loyee but she had to let me go as I w as almost 80. so the sh#t hit the fan at library headquarters and they fired Emily and the assistant too. they asked for me to come back but damn them I had had a bad fall , broke my leftshoulder, had to have a shoulder joint replacement and eventualluy I jus tcould not lift my left arm up high enough to shelve books any more,. so I told the headquarters sorry now go to hell and get out of my live, I gave you 23 years and your branch manager just threw me out like a pair of old shoes. now I do not owe you one damned thing.

all the bosses are crazy i think they choose the people who feed them up well and now a days not much power is given to the talented

Ha, maybe your boss's logic is like this: You are the pillar of the department, so I can't move you from your post, I can only promote Mr. XXX... Bosses are all like this. You are important when you are needed, and not so important when no job for you.

Hey,dude. This is just every boss they do, it's like a management skill. They don't wanna raise your salary but try to make you work more for them. Just do not let it bothers you so much.

Your boss probably had a good reason why he decided to promote Mr. X and not you. 1. He could have better qualifications for the job 2. He feels that that the work you are producing cannot be might not be the same if someone else was put in your position. 3. He might have another position in the future that he fills will be better for you. Have you asked him the reason why you did not get the promotion? That might give you an insight as to what he has planned for you in the future.

yes, i think your boss is crazy. he cannot make up his mind. my boss is like that, believe me, my life is a hell. i'm planning to quit my job soon, not because i hate my work but because i so hate my boss. good luck.
