Do you prefer to see Reality Shows or Sports events?

Two versions of real time action are Reality Shows and Sports events. Which of these do you prefer to see? For me, it has always been sports as the realty shows create contrived scenarios and it is not a natural expression of individuals that is displayed in these shows. I love the more free flowing adrenalin of sports. What is your take on this? Cheers! Ram

Hi ram. I'm not a big sports fan, although I do watch the Steelers when they play. Love those guys!!!! So I guess I would have to say that I prefer reality shows. I really like the Amazing Race and Survivor, and I sometimes watch the Apprentice. I don't watch any others. Big Brother, Bachelor, Bacheloreette, are all nonsense to me.

Hmm... but do you feel that though they are called reality shows, some of them are fixed? Cheers! Ram

ok... but some of the scenarios they create are so convoluted, you do not see normal people doing such stuff :) Cheers! Ram

I don't know if I would call them "fixed". They are, however, edited to get ratings. They don't show the whole experience, but, really, they can't. They show what the audience wants to see to keep the ratings up. Now on shows like the bachelor, they may be fixed...that's why I don't watch them. But Amazing Race and Survivor are shows that require a certain amount of knowledge to get to the end, and I enjoy routing for my favorites to win.

I love sports . I follow hockey , American Football, baseball and now the World Cup but I must confess there are two reality shows I am hooked on. One is The Bachelorette and the other is The Real L Word. But with that said i have and will again DVR a reality show so I can see a damn good sporting event.

I'm not really into sports so I prefer reality shows. It's fun to watch, sometimes sad sometimes funny. It's very entertaining. like the Big Brother house. here in the Philippines It's very popular. we have our own Big Brother show here and we call it Pinoy Big Brother or PBB.

I enjoy watching both! I really love gymnastics, the Olympics and the World Cup. But I also enjoy reality shows like Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. I also enjoy the talent shows like Dancing on Ice (where celebrities compete in ice skating) and Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing With The Stars).

I like reality shows the most. Especially the talk shows where we can learn new views on any subject. Though it may look dramatic, the shows throw light on most of the points we fail to see due to our predetermined minds. And they are sometimes very funny too, if the participants have a good sense of humor.

Talk shows are not reality shows. Talk shows are more like debates and you do not have a peek into the lives of the participants. Cheers! Ram

for me i do prefer watching a sports show rather than a reality show simply because i just can't find it(reality shows) more realistic, say a reality show about a good family where they televised what they were doing inside their house , how they live, their kind of lifestyle etc. and tendencies of that are they would try to act(or maybe scripted) normal or let say good in front of the viewers just for the sake of the show and their family's outlook. compared into sports were real competition and skills are shown.

Yes, I agree with you that the reality in "Reality Shows" is so convoluted that it no longer is the reality. Cheers! Ram

Well actually i love both .. reality shows as well as sports events.. But If I'll have to choose one .. then obviously i'll choose a sports event. Because the level of excitement is just incomparable. everythings got involved in it.. there is anger, there is passion, excitement, tension, pressure, tears, prayers, victory, failure, just everything. So its always great to see a sports event.

I really like watching Reality TV shows especially the Pinoy Big Brother but that was way before since I was already pissed off of that show for some reason. So I opted to watch another Reality show which is Pinoy Dream Academy that I am still waiting until now since that is about the singing contest wherein you can see their progress on how they learn. I am not usually into sports events but I really enjoy watching the olympics especially in swimming category.

I like sports events simply because I love sports so much. Sports can make me energized and it is very competitive. I like the attitude of every player. Even though there are sad occurrences and not-so-good things, sports can really uplift people.

sports events, reality shows are just not REALITY for me. its just a bunch or people looking to make money and make fools of themmselves. Sports take talent and its a feat watching someone do something that i cant. that is the sole reason of picking sports over reality shows

hi there! interesting question. i loved watching ESPN when i was younger. i love watching extreme sports. i like the real time action where you dont' know what's gonna happen next, if it's a yey or a oh-snap moment. i think reality TV are all manipulated. though they say that what is on the boobtube is what is happening within the program, it's still all manipulated. yes, no scripts. but they only air what will attract and retain more viewers. sports is the reality TV. ;-)

Exactly... the reality in these shows some how seem to be driven by TRP rather than TRP driven by reality as initially intended :) Cheers! Ram

Hi ram, I am more on viewing sports because it gives me more on seeing and having the relaxation time for myself. This able to make you see others strategies and tactics in gaming scenes. Unlike Reality shows that concerns more on one's behavior that may give you a good impression or not at all. In sports, you can see all good shots and defenses that actually can help you in your looks towards life and struggles. Sports activities is more of a challenging type and always lead in a healthy lifestyle. Either the team we love win or loose the game. The essence of enjoyment while not missing the moment is the best for me. All have a great time and able to see the different approaches that lead to greater challenge till the next round. Happy mylotting

Yes, also in sports the results are out almost out within a short period. You do not need to wait for a long time to know the results. Cheers! Ram

I preffered for both because it depends on mood. If i watch continuously i will get bored and if reality show then also the same. So if we have both then i can see alternate things whenever i want then i won't get bored.

I prefer sports events. Reality show sometimes doesn't look real. At least on sports you are quite sure their expression is real. Except of course if the match is fix.
