As rumor has spread lately, Bank of America, and other banks may adopt the new policy to end its free checking account for its customers. So, they will charge you fee monthly on your checking - account, regardless you have $0 in the balance. Will you continue business to be with this huge giant bank, or will you consider move your money to elsewhere where you feel your business is appreciated? Because of the new regulation laws enacted on banking, Bank of America has to find other way to make up this profit from its customers. So, we have to watch on Bank of America of his next move. What do you think?

I would not remain a customer of any bank that stopped it's free checking services to it's customers. Whether BAC needs to make up revenue shortages or not, treating customers badly is the best way to lose them so, yes, I would switch to another bank under those circumstances.

I won't stay a customer for those banks who charge me a single dime on those account too. I would rather consider switch my money to a credit union or community bank for better service too.

This sort of thing is why I prefer to do business with a smaller local credit union. The customer service is usually better, and the are less likely to try to do stupid things like this. The big banks only care about making another dollar off you, and they will do it any way they can. If my bank starts charging a fee for checking accounts, I will close my account immediately...

You made a smart choice already. I was also considering joining a credit union, so I don't have worry about this fee - burden kind of fee to open an account with those big banks. Plus, their interest rate wasn't that high to keep me floating either. Why should I stay with them.
