Today I bought into the fact that England might actually beat Germany, what a clown I am. England are terrible. Because the priemier league is so strong people expect the national team to be strong, but the best players are foreign and they carry the english players. England cannot defend, if you saw Germany's first goal then you will have noticed that basis schoolboy defending would have stopped the goal. The English team is made up of over-rated primmadonna's who aren't worth a sh#t. And as for our saviour Wayne Rooney his only contribution was to slate the fans, that despite a recession have managed to go out to South Africa and support the boys, and call them unloyal. what a pri#k. Also Upson, Lampard, Heskey, SWP should never again wear the England shirt.

thekelz, Like you, I felt that England could beat Germany and we weren't far off. Let's be fair, I feel that England could have had a better outcome if the referee had not goofed and/or FIFA had accepted and introduced that goal line technology to allow the goal that Frank Lampard scored. In all fairness, I felt that England would not be playing so riskily or in Wenger's words "impatiently" in the second half had the goal been declared. Because, I think a lot of us actually forgot that there's a psychological aspect of the game to consider here. The Germans may say what they want but they know and were already shaking when England crept back. And if you have played the game before I am sure you can remember how it feels to see your teams lead reduced to level. On another front, I am also concern with the taxing professional league schedules and I just have to say that the English players may be having a little too much matches at home to play well in international scenes. I can see that most of the European teams are very tired and lethargic as compared to their other opponents from another part of the globe. Last but not least, you may see a well coordinated team in Germany but if you look further you would find that their team were the first of be gathered to train together as the German league is one of the earliest leagues to finish. They do not have a lot of cup matches as they were out of the Champions League early and do not have much domestic cups to fight and play like England. Also, the Germans have a slight unfair advantage of one where they are the team that is more accustomed to the new Adidas Jabulani soccer balls used in this world cup tournament since they were already playing with it during their domestic professional league than England who had to adapt and calibrate in such a short span of time. So, let's not be too harsh on the lads there and they really have tried their best out there.

I disagree about the tiredness, You can't blame lack of control, loose passes, the lack of ability to keep possesion of a football on being tired. In all 4 games England were very poor and these guys are supposed to be some of the better players of the beautiful game. You say about the second Goal, but in all fairness to Germeny they could have easily have scored 4 goals by then. England have no magination on how to create chances against the top teams and again that has nothing to do with being tired. You cuold finish the league at christmas and have them training together from January and the same outcome would happen. I think there is something fundermentally wrong with the English mentality. Something needs to change from the youngsters, to the parents who watch and encourage, to the coaches who coach the kids, all the way to the head of the game in England, Including having shorter seasons as you suggest. Until this happens the same story will keep unfolding.

It's not a joke, because a joke - even a bad joke - is supposed to be funny. England's performance is execerable, diabolcal, disappointing, pathetic - but not funny. The players have let the fans down, their country down, and themselves down. If only the Queen had the constitutional power to arrest them and clap them in the Tower of London as soon as they touched down on English soil. They are traitors to their country, because they haven't lived up to our reputation as a proud nation.

I don't actually think the players care that they were a disgrace, and if anyone blames the linesman i'll loose my rag. f###king disgrace is all you can say about it.

They were useless, I was disgusted and embarrassed by them. I have commented on others discussions about this game and my comments were this... Rooney was useless... the only thing he gave to the game was a lot of ATTITUDE Fabio misplaced all their positions which led to them not working well together Crouch should have been put into the game, since he is a great goal scorer And... David Beckham should replace Fabio as our England Manager! England could not keep control of the ball at all again, they let the Germans walk right over them. When they did have the ball, they ended up giving it away. Yes the referee got in the way, resulting in England losing possession of the ball once, and yes a goal was disallowed because it was (apparently) not seen by the linesman.... however even after all this, I do not think that England would have won anyway, they just could not keep up with the Germans.

I liked the first half. If it was not that rough arbitration mistake, was to tie break. After the break,I do not what happened, like the British tired. This World Cup I do not like I guess that awful noise in stadium confuse players

I think that the English national team is suffering because in their own championship: Barclays Premier League are too many foreign players. Their defense is so messy let alone their goalkeepers.
