to tell the turth, i'm disappointed. i love England, i love Rooney, Lampard is my idol.... but they were going home. i'm sad, i thought i could support them into the final. i'm upset and when i saw the tears in the England fans' eyes, u know what's my feeling? it's just like a mirror in my heart was broken down!!! on the other hand, they did well. they r strong and they always did their best to try to equalise. although they were defeated this time, i will support them all the time no matter they win or lose... whatever, congretulate Germany!!!

Lets look at the problem. 1) Team selection. Ledley King, Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Barry, Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole. There players are either carrying or have just recovered from injuries. Ferdinand was picked initially only to be replaced by Dawson. What was Upson selected ahead of Dawson, I do not have a clue. King should not be in the squad at all given his knee problems. He will not be able to last the tournament. Barry, he was recovering and Capello is willing to wait till the last minute for his inclusion. Cole hardly played prior to the tournament. Rooney is selection is justifiable given his form in the season. 2) James, Green or Hart? Why did Capello have to wait till the last minute before announcing his first choice goalkeeper for the game? Hart is definitely the best goalkeeper among the three albeit the least experienced. Yet he have no game time. 3) For some reasons, Rooney is totally off form. He should have been given a break with Crouch and/or Defoe spearheading the attack. Heskey? What is he doing in the squad? 4) Terry and Gerrard is not in the best of form and they are starting every match. Yes, they have leadership qualities. But they are also liabilities. 5)Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson. Brilliant attacking full backs but suspected at the back. They are bombing ahead at every opportunity and leaving gaps at the back. This is World Cup mind you, not the weekly BPL fare. They should have curb their attacking instinct. Especially some Terry, Upson and Barry (the shield) is wanting for speed. 6) Playmaker. England do not have a playmaker that can make that laser guide through pass. Neither Gerrard nor Lampard have it. They will need someone with the guile and eye for a pass like Xavi. 7) Media hype. The billing of golden generation is putting unnecessary pressure on the players. They look good with the clubs but is it because they are good or the foreign players making them look good?

The players you have listed Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard all are fantastic for their club teams, but not sure why they do not gel together as a team. Fabio Capello had mentioned in his first conference as a fear factor while playing for their country. If that is the case it is very silly and sad. You need to play without fear when you play for the country as you are carrying the hopes of a whole nation on your shoulders. Cheers! Ram

To say the England team disappointed me would be an understatement. The first two games were bloody awful, pathetic even. Players didn't even try, they were a bloody disgrace. All this hype about the current England squad being the 'Golden Era' was just plain ridiculous. If that was our Golden Era then the future of football is not England. Rooney was supposed to be our 'hope', he didn't score a goal throughout the whole 4 games. What does that tell us. Not only that, but the England manager is a disgrace too. I've never liked Capello, not since he took John Terry's captaincy of him. He is not the right man to manage an international team and why the FA give out 4 year contracts is beyond me. He should do himself a favour and resign, England are going nowhere under his control. He's stubborn and refuses to listen to people who clearly know the English players better than he does. He plays a 4-4-2 fomation which has no play in international football. It's an outdated system and it is never going to work at such a high level. He refused to listen to the fans and the critics when we begged him not to start heskey in the first two games. I mean, how is it that someone who has such an awful goal scoring record was the first choice for a manager of an international team? Either Heskey's unreal during training and just doesn't bring that preformance onto the pitch or Fabio's just plain nuts. Crouch barely got a look in! And he's got an excellant goal scoring record. He would have improved England's standing in the group stages without a doubt. I mean, finishing second to the USA when we're got all these 'world class' players is an absolute disgrace. It seems our players have forgotten the skills that goal them there in the first place and after all the conflict between them and capello a few weeks back they just didn't seem to care anymore. I feel sorry for the fans who travelled out to see that. Anyone who has spent the last few years saving up to go and support their country has the right to expect them to play up to standards and this year, the english team just didn't. As for Lampard's disallowed goal, that was a joke! Everyone in the world seen that that went over the line, and I'm sure even the Germans won't deny that. Imagine if that had have happened in the World Cup final during extra time and England lost because of it? All this 'bad decisions are what make football interesting' crap is just stupid. We have the technology so why on earth aren't we using it. I know for a fact that the Germans were the better team yesterday and they deserve to be where they are today, but that one bed decision will leave England fans pondering the ifs and the buts for a long time now. We'd just started to pick up momentum when those two goals were scored within seconds of each other, who knows what sort of second half we would have seen had it have ended 2-2.

The over hyped England can go to hell. They played horribly so they can just have themselves to blame.

ya, many of england players play like player who doesnt know play football. it make us disapointed. rooney can not score goal in this world cup, and i think he is one of the worst players in this world cup. terry can not make england defender strong. and i am confuse why capello choose upson than choose carragher. and i think gerard is the best in england squad but he is only the one and he is not supported by his friends.
