If you win a large sum of cash should you still bid on eBay

Here is an ethical question for you. During a discussion with friends at the weekend we were discussing whether we would change our spending habits if we were to win a large sum of money on a lottery or such like. Whilst was all agreed we would still save and spend vouchers and money off coupons we were divided over whether we should bid on low cost items on eBay, bearing in mind we could buy them at full price very easily, when many people use eBay because they are very short of funds so we could be depriving them of the chance to obtain an essential item at low cost. Do you think that financial secure people should leave the bargains for those who need them, or get stuck in and play the auction game?

I fell people who are a little more well off than others also have the right to save their money...so they cannot kept away from such auctions.

Its a well known fact that people who have money and are well off, are also very careful with their money. You only have to look at our Queen, one of the richest women in the northern hemisphere(probably) She is reknowned for turning off lights, paying low wages, even eating meals out of tupper ware boxes. The tupper ware boxes possibly store left overs and she does hate waste. Its quite likely that she saves coupons, or her housekeepers do and they are used, plus i rather like the idea of the Queen sitting in front of her lap top bidding for collars and leads for her corgis, or slippers to throw at Prince Charles ! (only joking, I don't want to end up in the Tower of London ) I would like to think that if I won a large amount of money, i would help my friends but would still enjoy the bidding on e bay. The fascination in finding rare items, like DVD's, videos or books, or magazines is never ending. It doesnt matter how much money you have, you can't always find a rarity outside of ebay. I was lucky enough to bid on a book that had been out of print since the 60s and i was delighted to win the bid. So that excitement never goes away. I can understand your thoughts that the less well off use e bay, but do you remember Cherie Blair bidding for shoes?

I believe that most if not all well off people eally value their money maybe because they worked hard earning it so I think they also have the freedom to participate in such auctions. Most of them also has become richer because of being stingy and thrifty. Personally, even if I suddenly get hold of a really huge amount of money, I would still continue bidding on ebay because it's fun and I think it's a natural tendency to always seek for the best deals. :D
