Hi, The general process of getting admission to the US universities like MIT is by qualifying GRE/TOEFL. But whether they are going to admit you doesn't solely depend on your GRE/TOEFL scores. They will check your entire background. Possibly they will look for some research experiences and publications, neither of which, I assume, you don't have yet. In that case, I would recommend that you complete your M.Tech first. Appear for GATE and try to get hooked up to one of those IITs. Even passing out from an IIT doesn't ensure admission in universities like MIT, Stanfoard, Havard etc. You have to pass with good GPA. Also try to publish stuffs related to your department. Look for some research opportunities. Once you are done with all that, then go for GRE/TOEFL. In GRE, aim for some score above 1450 and in TOEFLiBT, above 110 or so, and you will get a sure call from one of those top ranking universities. You should make some extensive research on all the US universities. Check out www.petersons.com Thanks. God bless you

Cool. I have made a blog for students like you. Many students contact me through orkut, gtalk, yahoo messenger and even myLot. I have known and understood the needs of students through this blog of mine. Whenever they request information, I try to provide them. In case of China things may be a bit different. But having a masters degree is always cool, especially when you are opting for higher education in the US.
