If one has the ipod or phone in one's purse, would it not be stupid for that one to leave the purse outside? One does not need to turn it on to listen to music or an audio book. Mind you, that only applies if one is not in one's home and one is in the restaurant. If one is at home, one can leave the purse and the phone outside. (unless the other people are part of a criminal gang, then it would be safe to have the phone in the bathroom, but you would need to keep it safe. Better still have caller id so you can call the other person back. Besides phones only ring while you are having a bath or shower. And if you do not recognize the number and am sure it is a telemarketer, you can say HELLO! in a very loud and scarey voice.

yes especially if we are in the public toilet we always bring our bag inside the bathroom because there might be a tendency of lost of our bag and we do not like it to happen.

It is not safe to even let someone hold onto our purse if we go inside. But when you are at home, you do not have to worry about that and besides if you get a missed call, that would be recorded. But one thing do not do as I did yesterday put your phone on vibration or mute.

I don't get many calls on my cell, so most of the time I don't, too afraid I would drop it in the toilet. Also I have been pocket dialed and had to listen to someone peeing b/c the phone wouldn't disconnect, so I don't want to accidently do that. But, if I am expecting a call I bring my cell or even my cordless phone into the bathroom with me.

Hi amyson, I only bring my phone (not my cell ever) into the bathroom with me if I am expecting an urgent call! If not, whomever it is will either leave me a message or call me back! I don't use my cellphone except for emergency purposes when I am out so I don't even have it turned on when I am home. I have a girlfriend who takes the phone with her when she is taking a shower, whatever she is doing! I am not that attached to my phone or anyone who is going to call!

I don't bring my phone when I go to the bathroom because I don't get called a lot. Though I do bring my IPod into the restroom because i just want to listen to my music or having something to entertain me. Its like that feeling you get you need to be occupied at every second of the day. Also I may watch some youtube video or something to occupy my self when I'm in the shower of course I just set it up right near me so I have something to entertain myself while I'm in there but a few of my friends thinks its wierd I do that.

I try to keep my phone with me most of the time, because I might need to be informed of something happening to my mom. It seems that as soon as I leave it some place, people call or text me all over!

I don't like to touch the phone unless my hands are clean and dry, so normally I do not take the phone into the bathroom at home, but when out and about it is in my pocket, so there is no place else to put it. But usually it is powered off when I am in public places. If it were to ring I would not answer it in the bathroom. I can call them back later.

Yes I do, because I never know when my daughter will be calling me, as she is expecting her 4th child and she wants to keep me informed as to what is going on with her and the rest of the family. She lives in another state so I won't be there for her when the baby is born, so by talking to her on the phone everyday, it is like she is right here. I put my phone, either on the sink or on the floor, so it won't fall into the toilet. I have though times before, not had it with me, and I would hear my phone ring, and I would have to run to get it. A very inopportune time I tell you. It just makes sense to me to take it with me, so I don't miss any calls frommy daughter. Take are, and happy mylotting.

Hello Amyson, I do not bring my cell phone in the bathroom, because for one I will not be able to concentrate on what I'm doing in the bathroom while, talking on the phone doing hair, showering, potty time etc. I also think that is very unsanitary to take your cell phone in the bathroom with you, I think that call should wait till you are all cleaned up and prepared to be on the phone. You could also accidently drop your cell phone, in the bathroom and break it, and have to purchase a new one. So I will also say its expensive to take your phone into the bathroom with you.

Some people need to be talking on their phones or waiting for a call, even in the bathroom. Some people just take phones into the bathroom for privacy. They don't want anyone else in the house to hear their private conversation. The bathroom is just a ggod place for a phone accident to happen. Sooner or later , it will end up in a place you don't want.

amyson I think I am one of the few holdouts left in the United States that do not have a cell phone. I am glad your phone did not break My son has had three cell phones and lost two of them. He is 51 so he had no excuse as being a careless child. Ihave been in a few instances when I wished I did have one but I don't think I can really afford one in mysituation as I have a very limited income aftter the rent and board is paid here at Gold Crest.

i remember cellphones were not that popular and beepers were the ones very popularly used by busy people like businessmen, etc. i had it on my waist and gone to the bathroom. i can't remember what went wrong, my beeper slipped from the holster and dived in the bowl, yuck. that's one reason i do not bring my phone in the bathroom, i won't let it happen again. unless i have something to hide with my wife. my step daughter is the one i am annoyed with. she will have her phone in her pocket or waist. i she even use the bathroom with her phone. i can't explain how addicted she is with her phone. i am just worried something might happen with her phone inside the bathroom. i just wish it will not face the same faith my beeper had.

I do not take mey cell phone in the bathroom unless its in my pocket or purse. It only rings a few times before going to voice message. Im not going to hurt myself or the phone trying to make a mad dash for it before the messaging comes on. If its really important they will leave a message and i can call them back. No reason to make an emergency trying to answer the phone.

I do not do that as I have a caller id for my landline and with cells as you know one could trace the call and call them back. Anyway how much time does one spend in a bathroom that the caller cannot wait?
