For me it has been two young germans, Muller and Ozil. Both have been really fantastic for Germany and their performance against England really underlined why people are excited about these two youngsters. As of now Muller is 20 and Ozil is 21, they still have a long way to go. What are your picks till now? Cheers! Ram

Muller and Ozil is definitely the young player of the tournament. Messi, who is 23years old and should be counted as a young player as well, is the other one. I believe the European big clubs will be casting their eyes on the the German duo.

It is hard to believe Messi is just 23 years old looking at what he has already achieved at the club level :). Yes, he is a star no doubt. Cheers! Ram

ram_cv, For me it has got to be Abedi Ayew from Ghana to be my vote for the Hyundai Best Young Player Award for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. I am sure you will agree with me that his performance is by far the most impressive of the lot especially when it comes to consistency. Ozil and Muller were as pale as white sheets when the Germans Klose was red carded while playing against Serbia.

I loved his performance against the USA. He was full of running and tricks. But it is a shame that he is going to miss the next match due to two yellow cards. I do not think yellow cards count from the league stage count over the knockout stage, else you loose good players at key moments when you want the best to take on the best!! Cheers! Ram

i do hope that this is rooney and messi show but rooney make many of us dissapointed and messi had changed his position so he play like playmaker i think and i think it`s anwer why untill now he is hard to score goals. and suprising that muller and ozil wake up that there are still many young player can open our eyes.

Rooney probably was the most disappointing amongst the so called superstars of the tournament. He looked lethargic and lazy in this world cup. Cheers! Ram

If you have not seen them play, try and catch the highlights of Germany vs. England match and you can see their link up play which was really excellent for the third and fourth goals!! Cheers! Ram

Definitely Ozil, i was hearing stuff about him before the beginning of the Worldcup, for example like Barca was wanting to sign him. Even though i never actually havent seen him play before, i was quiet surprise after watching him playing. He is an outstanding player.

The funny part is that he was not even certain to make the cut of 23 till Ballack got injured and Loew went for extra backup in the midfield!! Cheers! Ram
