Giving them amnesty may hurt them instead of help them.

A lot of discussions about illegals going on here lately and them wanting citizenship. Well giving it to them I don't think will help them much. Once they get citizenship and can work legally here...well all those employers they are working for are going to have to start paying legal wages with benefits to them or get into legal trouble. YOu think that is going ot happen? No...those companies will just find a fresh batch of illegal that don't have citizenship yet to hire to replace them. They will be competing with other US citizens for jobs. Good luck there. The unemployement rate is high...there is already alot needing jobs.
So it would actually hurt them to make them US citizens. Their "niche" in the job market will be gone...so will the incentive to hire them...they won't be cheap labor anymore. So those companies will just look for individuals willing NOT to get citizenship to hire for lower wages. Which will just bring in another HUGE wave of illegals to fill those jobs....so as a country we are back to the same problem...tons of illegals in our country. Plus tons more "newly" legal citizens added to our unemployement lines and competing with the rest of us for jobs.
Wonder if the illegals have thought about that? Giving them amnesty won't fix the problem. The way to fix teh problem is to stop employers from hiring illegals and if we are going to do that and all those companies are going to HAVE to hire legal citizens for their jobs from now on (or get into major trouble)..well shouldn't those jobs go to real legal citizens? We have tons of unemployed in this country. If those companies start paying living wages...those jobs belong to us not them. SO no need to give them amnesty. It won't help them either way...so I say deport them and start making those companies pay legal wages with legal employees.
Tell me waht you think.

Most of them DONT WANT citizenship. They come here, work, send money home, work some more, make more money, then go home when the jobs dry up. So, not only have they taken our jobs, but they take the money out of our economy.

They are leeches. It is way past time to remove them.

Reagan gave them amnesty and here we are again, in worse shape because our southern boarder is still basically wide open. You're right, lil, once these people can work legally they're going to find that they have no job TO work...so they'll go on welfare and add to the burdens of the states. We need to make it impossible for them to work here so that they will leave and deport the ones that we can. I'm still iffy about the ones who have children who were born here and have been raised here.

I read somewhere that that's what's been happening since this recession deepened...some illegals are going back home because they can no longer find work here.
