Years ago I was interested in gaining speed with my typing and I found a wonderful program called Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. I found it at Walmart for about $9.00. There are other ways to gain speed via the internet such as Typingmaster.com which was very helpful for me as well.
The only advice I can give you is practice, practice, practice! I now type about 79 words per minute and some jobs that I apply for are actually requesting that I be able to type 80 wpm. So never stop practicing. Although mylot is a good way of practicing typing skills. Repitition is the key in learning the keyboard by memory which is a huge part of typing quickly :)
Good Luck and Happy Typing :)

Practice makes perfect. If it is not improving, i suggest you practice more than you normally did

Just type, type, type.:D Excerise 2-3 hours a day, but not more. I can sugest the Stamina 2.5 typing program, its very useful.;) I can do only 230 letter per min(its only 23 words). Beat me.
