Hi, jothimani. I am like this too. When I had my first child I was very scared. The doctor told me to push and I was so scared to. I thought that I was going to die right there on the delivery bed. But I was okay. For me, this experience was scary. I have watched shows with women that are delivering and they are in so much of pain. It makes me feel very scared to see them like this. I am then thinking that it will be the same for me. Once a woman have had their first child, it will become easier then. It did for me. The contractions are still painful though.

welcome to the wonderful world of mylot jot. women are afraid to give birth, and on the other hand guys who are going to get operated gets scared as well. its not just women who gets scared on something that they have to do for the first time, its natural. when you dont know what to expect then the tendency is to get scared. my wife has a friend who has three children. and when she got pregnant for the fourth she was not scared, in fact she was excited but when the doctor told her that she might deliver on C-section thats when she got scared for this is her first time for C-section. fourth baby but C-section. since she does not know what to expect, like anybody... we tend to get scared. its natural, even just when dentist will pull out our teeth we get scared too specially when its our first time.

Most people fear the unknown . . . if you've never had a baby, you don't know what to expect no matter what you've heard or read. This human life is coming out from "down there" . . . some people are afraid of the pain, whether natural or c-section, and the aftermath . . . and perhaps having a baby period (parents may wonder if they will do the right thing when taking care of their first time baby)! For me, I wouldn't say it was fear - I was very excited to give birth to my first child (and my second). In fact, the doctors took very good care of me that I didn't have any pain (except for the initial contractions and the pinch of the epidural) . . . and any pain that I had I knew would pass. It was a wonderful experience (both times) for me!
