Have you considered going back to college for a change of career?

I am planning to go back to college to please my parents. They want me to take units in education. I don't really want to but if I would, I prefer Special education so I can at least make use of the psychology unit i took before.

Hi there ddaguno! Well, I stopped studying for five years when I got married and gave birth to our son. I went back to college three years ago and I shifted courses even though it's still related to my previous one. Before, I took Bachelor of Elementary Education with specialization in Values Educations. Now, I am taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. So, instead of teaching in elementary school, I will be teaching on the secondary level, the high school students. I think Special Education Graduates are really in demand nowadays and I would suggest that you go with what you want. It would be hard to do something just to please your parents especially when your heart's really not into it. I think that SPED is as good as teaching in college which I presume your parents want you to do after gaining those education units.

Thanks. My parents have a small school in the province and they want help in managing it. Is it true that you now need to finish 5 years of study to get an education degree?

My mom wants me to take nursing but my heart is not into that course. I took up my second course in elementary education but I wasnt able to complete it because of the change of curriculum which is really bad. It would make it longer. Now, I am planning to take up the same course as you as its also good and very demanding overseas. If I plan to relocate/migrate in US or other countries. You have a good choice. You are lucky to have a school for a family business. Good luck and Happy Mylotting!

i would love to go back to college. but sadly, i don't have money for the tuition fee. my parents say if i take up a master's degree, i have to use my own money. after graduating college, i planned on taking up my master's but up to now, i still haven't saved up for it.

I have dreamed of working in the missions field. Now I am getting my chance by way of going back to college and majoring in the social work field. I consider this to be in the missions field since we are trying to help a person that has concerns they are confused over.

That's better. For me if i would be given a chance to go back to college i will gladly take it because it was my biggest failure in life not only for a change of my career. Really it was so hard if you don't have any degree taken in college. I cannot work in a prestigious company, i cannot have a better income and a better life. If only i could go back to my past i'm sure i am not regretting now.

I'm a computer engineering graduate. But my work now is more on computer programming, which I can learn more if I was a computer science graduate. If given the chance I think I will take up computer science rather than computer engineering.

I had been studying till 2001 then i worked and then i pursued my masters in Business Administration in 2006 and completed in 2008. but it was my choice. I was interested to do the studies. I would advise you to do the studies that you like and will get you a future, rather than taking up something that you dont like and regretting in future.

In my case, I went back to college again because after I graduated from a 2-year course, I still feel incomplete. Incomplete in a way that I really don't appreciate what I finished and just taken it for granted. Because my mind set that time was to graduate as soon as possible so I can help in the family as soon as I graduate. But it turns out like what I never expected. Until my dad offer what if I go back again in college and take up Education. I'm on my 2nd sem in Education right now (I started last sem) and I really feel happy and blessed to have another chance. Since you have taken psychology before it's a plus factor to you especially when you major in Special Education, it was a great idea. Good luck! ^_^
