hi guys! I hope you are all enjoying myLot as I do. ^.^ Anyway, I'm a book lover and I needed a book to hold on to right now, but I'm tired of going to the books store and pick one up and read it's back cover and assume that "oh, this book is great!' but when I finished reading it it turns out to be a GREAT COVER not a good book. could you recommend me to a book that you've read and think that it's amazing? I'm into the slight romance (not heavy), adventure, comedy theme. thanks everyone!

Have you ever read the "Wild Magic" series by Tamora Pierce? It's a great set of fantasy novels, particularly so if you like animals at all. Another good set is the "His Dark Materials" set, such as The Golden Compass - you may have heard of the movie. There are also any of Brian Jaques' books, particularly Taggerung. I would highly recommend any of these. If you'd like a little more info about them, just comment and I'll get a bit more in-depth!

I saw the Golden Compass movie, though I haven't watched the whole film. I think it's good, but isn't that for children. well, what the heck I also read HP series. lolz.

It is in the young adults section, yes, but my mom, who is in her 50s, introduced me to the series. She rants and raves about it whenever she gets the chance. Frankly, I think the His Dark Materials series is a little intense for kids at points... Nonetheless, it's a good read, if you ever want to give it a try.

One of the great book that i ever read was Forest Gump, it has actually a movie. Yes it's much more similar to the movie but on that book like any other books put in a movie, there are a lot of scene that can actually only read on that particular book. In other words, it is more complete and precise. I really loved the story and how the story ended so everyone should try to scan it.

I've watched forest Gump and loved the film but I didn't know that it's based on a novel. Yes, I agree with you. almost every novel based movie turns out to be hmm. some kind of disappointment to the reader. I always tell my friends to watch the movie first before reading the book (if they are interested to read the novel). Thanks! I'll go search in the book store, forrest Gump is one of my faves. ^.^

some other movie/novels you may enjoy: The Twilight series The Green Mile The Harry Potter series And Eragon was a great book, but because I tried to watch the movie right after I'd read it, I was very disappointed in how much they had changed everything in the movie and couldn't finish watching it.

Really? I got bored easy on non-fiction books. But we're not the same person right? ^.^ What's the 'bird by bird' about? can you give a quick review? thanks. ^.^ It's nice that you can visit the library most of the time. and the cost for me to go to our nearest local library will be enough to buy me a book. lolz. I envy you. thanks for the response. ^.^

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It is kind of a futuristic science fiction romance/ adventure novel.

Do you love fiction or reading books in a series? I'd recommend (for books in a series) Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Chronicles of Narnia. They're all good ones. For the romantic comedies that I've read, I would like you to look up anything from Meg Cabot like Princess Diaries (they're also in a series) or Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic books (also in a series), Remember Me? and Undomestic Goddess. I have just started reading Sophie Kinsella's novels, they're really good and very funny. They're not overly romantic and they're certainly funny too. :) If you ever would like to try love story with a bit of drama and a twist on endings, try Nicholas Sparks's novels such as A Walk To Remember, The Notebook, Dear John and Nights in Rodanthe. :) Happy reading!!

If you like a little mystery thrown in occasionally, I'd recommend any book in the series written by Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown. They have the adventure, comedy, and a touch of romance also. Have you tried paperbackswap.com? you can post any of your books that you want to get rid of (optional), and when someone orders them you ship them at your cost and recieve a credit that you can use to get any other book posted on the site. you can also purchase credits for pretty cheap and have books sent to you(you don't pay shipping for those mailed to you). It is free to join, and the only thing you pay for is credits and the cost of shipping if someone orders a book from you.
