Herro sarath49 I read all the comments and did not find the one I use. I have used Norton, however did not like it. I use one called Panda now. I get it as part of my RV organization. RV organization also gives me privacy plus, an identity protection program. I get two for the price of one. I have used some of the others you mention. I like Panda, have used it for years. It updates automatically. I can set it to autoscan. I may do that. Oh thanks for reminding me of malware. I thought it would fight with any antivirus program, however have since learned that it performs a different function. I have used spybot in the past. Prosperous mylotting

I have a few different antivirus in my computers. On my desktop I have Nod 32, which has proven to be good. ON my laptops I have avast free as well. I also have a few other programs that work together to keep my computers virus free and clean. I am satisfied with all of them and will continue using them, specially since I don't even remember when I actually did have a virus on my computer. It's important to keep in mind that just downloading an antivirus is not enough, keeping up with updates and staying informed should be part of the "package" :) Usually I prefer to download the software from the original site rather than getting through other places - I know, I am a little paranoid about computer safety LOL

I have one commercial antivirus which is Norton but doesn't work on all viruses. So I installed more anti virus and anti spyware in my computer. So far I have AVG, Avira, Anti Malware, and Search and Destroy. Each of this security software have their own benefits and I usually use them all when I do a regular maintenance on my cpu.

I currently use Kaspersky. I have been using this brand for around 2 years now and it has been good to me. But, once I get a hold of a Mac.. No more AV softwares for me.

I have installed avira free on mine's and my brother's unit. Why is it good, its free! Plus it does not cost huge amount of resources on your pc. I also have Malware bytes Anti malware and Ccleaner. Plus I sometimes make an online virus scan through Dr Web. My first choice is Eset Nod32, but I have not been able to purchase one yet.

I use AVG Free, and i havent got any viruses in the last 2 years. You can download it from the official website. But the best way to keep away the newest viruses from your PC is...Linux. Yes, its Linux, because all the viruses made for Windows, can not damage your Linux operating system. I prefer Ubuntu. Same using experience, but safer.;)

I have Avira which I downloaded for free I think it is enough to keep my laptop safe. However, I am very careful about downloading files and I do not allow other people's flash drive to placed in my computer to avoid accumulating virus. Have a nice day!

I have ever installed many various anti virus software in my computer. We can't depend on one anti virus only. Every anti virus software has weakness and advantage compared to others. Once my computer has infected by viruses, I have to find the appropriate anti virus software. My favorite anti virus software when my computer infected is Avast. I can install it in safe mode of Windows XP. Then I scan my computer when booting. It's effective to heal my computer but it doesn't remove all viruses. After scanned using Avast, I remove it and replaced it with McAfee anti virus. I use McAfee anti virus 8.5 and activated maximum protection. This will protect my computer of being installed unwanted software or accessing by unauthorized user. So far, this is the best for me. I always update my anti virus everyday by turn on auto update option. I don't know about download.com. I usually visit softpedia.com to find free or trial program. Perhaps, download.com is similar with softpedia.com.
