Looking at the fixture for the quarter final, if results goes their way, we could be see the first ever all South American semi-finals and final of Brazil vs Uruguay and Argentina vs Paraguay.
I think this show how much the South Americans have improved over the years. They have gone so far because of the ability rather than luck. Ok, you might argue that Argentina is lucky against Mexico with the dubious first goal.
However, Spain, Holland and to some extend Germany will try to break up the party while the powerful Ghana will not go down without a fight.
No matter how mouth-watering a prospect of the Brazil v Argentina final is, I, for one, hope we wont have an all South American semi-finals/final. What about you?

That would really be a slap on the superiority theory of the European nations and FIFA will really be hard pressed to justify 13 slots to Europe. But I really do not see that happening. More possible line up would be Brazil Vs. Uruguay and Argentina Vs. Spain which is still very strongly South American line up.
But the most interesting one would be Brazil vs. Ghana and Germany Vs. Spain. That would mean two continents facing off in the finals!!
Cheers!

I thought Europe was given 13 spots because of the number of countries they have in the continent. No? Agree they should reduce the number of European slots. Maybe South American should have 5 spots instead of the current 4.5. Asia should also be allocated another one more slot.

It is possible but i do not think that it will happen. I think that the semi finals will contain 2 european teams in spain and germany as well as Uruguay and Brazil.
