problem with internet

I have a problem with broadband connection in windows. I am not able to access any sites not even google. Earlier there were no problems. I am using internet explorer8. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Since there is nithing wrong with your connection then the problem is highly likely in the Internet settings. I have not used IE8 so I am not sure about the menu. Seeing that you have Ubuntu installed I believe you can get yourself around the menu. Check how IE8 connects to the Internet. If you are usig a router you may have to change the default port whch is usually 80, to some other number.

I suggest you to check your connection first, if it's okay check your modem if its okay too, I suggest you to do the simplest thing to repair your system "Restore your computer to the early condition" (only if you use WinXP or vista)

hi and welcome to my lot that first thing to do is contact your provider they will instruct you with a verification procedure similar to Bright sky, it called the ping test.
