President Noynoy - New Beginning?

Philippines
July 2, 2010 8:52am CST
After his presidential inauguration, there's something new and fresh in the air. On his second day as a president, I feel this really is a new beginning for the Philippines. I wake up feeling excited for the day. His words gave a lot of hope and possibilities. Is this really the beginning of change that all Filipinos are waiting for? We could have made that change way before President Noynoy was elected. It's just that our recent leaders didn't put the time and effort to be an example for its people. "Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap"..Such a bold statement..In my mind, I could imagine all the possibilities for the Philippines. Are you excited as well?

I just wish it was true. But again they are the same. "Politicians", promises, i don't think they are corrupt. they made big mistakes like any other guy.

Of course the first aquino presidency was also marked by a series of coup attempts that destabilized the country politically and by its last year the Philippines also faced a serious power crisis. He may not have the charisma of his father and namesake, the late senator Benigno NINOY AQUINO but noynoy has always proven himself to be a good and descent man. It is these character traits which we hope will be enough for the AQUINO presidency to do better than the ARROYO regime

I really do hope that Noynoy is the saviour kind of President that our country had longed for all these years. Don't get me wrong, I am not an anti Noynoy either. My opinion is that he hasn't been tested yet. Our country has been through so much blunders and pains that our previous leaders have done.. I hope Noynoy would be able to surpassed all those major decisions that he has to face. Still on his honeymoon stage, he is already facing his first major decision-making challenge --- that of the Trillanes controversy...

It really touch my feelings when President Aquino delivered his speech. It is hoping that everything would be in the right perspective. It makes every Filipino awaken from a deep sleep of being blinded by the former President Arroyo's administration. Nakakatuwa kasi lahat malinaw na naintindihan ang mga sinabi nya dahil tagalog, alam naman natin na hindi lahat makakarelate kapag banyagang salita ang ginagamit. Hope all promises will be fulfilled.

I am excited! Yes. Then again Noynoy is only one man. Without our support and the support of the current administration all his dreams and goals may be reduced to nothing. I hope we all cooperate and make the Philippines a better, more progressive place to live in. I want us to have more to be proud of than Manny Pacquiao and tourism. Go go go Pinoy!
