River Ganga is the most loving river of India. The beauty of this river can be enjoyed either at HARIDWAR or Rishikesh. The enjoyment does not end here and it can be really be felt if you visited the birth place of Ganga which is in Gangotri and called is calledGOUMUKH. Have any one visited this marvelous spot....???

well, .. you missed the chance. YOU should have tried to get onto a horse-back.. and finish off the trekking faster.. if you were not having time. but, .. the journey is really very very TOUGH.. and, not everyone will remember this experience without a shiver down the spine. ... the GIGANTIC mountains, the gorgeous beauty of nature, the deepest of the deep gorges and valleys, .. and, of all.. the SERENE sanctity of the HIMALAYAN mountains..

Hi common_man - your response made me to go through your profile to check weather you are from India. Yes you are. I say that, you are most fortunate to visit this holy places in life.I need not want to explain the beauty of these places, because you have experienced that . Now going to Gangotri is really exciting - I had the opportunity of visiting this place in the year 1984. Spent 2 hours meditating here. Unforgettable experience.

I am a traveler, last July I was in Amaranth and blessed to see lord shivas holy cave and Vishnosarus, Gulmarg. I also cruised in river SINDH. There are pictures of Himalayan mountains in my profile. I also seen river Ganga in Kashi. By end of this year I wanted to visit GOMUKH. Meditating in those serene mountains will give tremendous energy. Meditation is my priority when I visit any holy place.

You are very lucky having visited Amaranth - this makes me to remember my visiting this wonderful place in the year 1974.I have a good collection of the photographs but only in black and white, those days no color. Very interesting to note that you are a spiritual deviated person and are also interested to visit all holy places. Thanks for your kind response.

yes. Last August, I have been there on a pilgrimage. All the four holy places.. the Char Dham. gangotri, yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.. of all the places, I have loved BADRINATH... as it seems to be the foot step to HEAVEN.. it has just started to snow .. when we went there, and all the serene beauty of HIMALAYAS... the tough road journey... and, the exotic hot food, that you can get there.. all are a truly wonderful experience. if you give me a choice, I would rather eat once, to be in that HOLY PLACE.

nup i have not been there ..but i wanna catch the sight some day as it is holly river of ours..but no longer i think it is wise to drink ganga's water from the river directly as Ganga is so polluted this days..lots of corruption has taken place in the name of cleaning Ganga........

OK - that is a good thought. It is in the interior Himalayas but one who determines can surely visit. There is no problem at all. And we are fortunate because it is in India and also feel proud of that. Good luck....
