I'm trying to find a decent coffee--any suggestions?

I've tried Folger's and all the other swill that's on the grocery shelves. If you like that kind of coffee, more power to ya but it's not for me. I'm looking for something that's rich and had body and most of all, flavor. I like good black coffee that tastes good and strong. I like coffee from Sumatra but that's $5 a bag. I'm currently drinking Cafe Bustelo, a Mexican espresso, but am getting tired of it. I used to drink Que Buen Cafe but they quite making it. Then I switched to Medaglia D'Oro but the stores quit stocking it and it's very expensive to order because of shipping. I've recently tried coffee from Kenya, which sounded as if it would taste great but I ended up giving it away--$5 down the drain! Any suggestions?

If you haven't tried Peet's coffee, I highly suggest it. It's pretty strong and much more bodied than that mass-produced grocery store stuff. It's a brand that came from a coffee shop, like Starbucks, so it's a little on the expensive side, though.

Thanks! I've seen it in the stores but never heard if it tasted good or not. Coffee is one of my few remaining indulgences and I'm willing to pay a little more, even though it goes against every instinct. I'll try it next time it goes on sale!

That was sweet of you to research for me! I've tried 8 o'clock, my ex inlaws like it and I have it each time I visit them. It's good but after tasting all the coffees that I have, it's nothing special for me. 8 o'clock was the maker of my favorite coffee, Que Buen Cafe espresso which I used in my drip coffee maker--also economical since I didn't have to use much for a few cups. I'm going shopping tomorrow and I guess I'll buy the Sumatra coffee at Walmart, I just want something different, strong and tasty.

I don't care for folger's either. I do really like Community coffee. Their "in-between" flavor is good. But I also like their medium blend. They have a better flavor. I drink some off brand now that is actually real good, it's just cheaper than community! You can also order community coffee on line.

I just went to their website and they're not that expensive. I might try it but I'd have to order it online, wouldn't I? I don't see a store locator there.

Hi try DXN coffee.. I know less about coffee about their aroma and their quality. All I can say about coffee is how they get along with my taste buds. Hehehe

I used to drink Nescafe about 30 years ago but I don't like it now. I've gone to the "world" aisle of the grocery store and they carry foods from a lot of countries but not coffee! My problem is that I want good coffee but I don't want to pay a lot for it. Did you know that instant coffee is made from "robusto" beans that are considered too inferior to sell for ground coffee? I didn't until I had to write a series of coffee articles!
